Steve Ross completed his purchase of the Dolphins at the very beginning of 2009 for I believe it was $1.1 billion. It's worth slightly less than what he paid for it.
Meanwhile, if he'd slammed the entire wad into a basic S&P 500 ETF, he'd have like an 80% return.
