The word is they're seriously considering a modern version of the Torino Cobra, and from the concept photo....BUILD IT...and get Clint Eastwood to do the commercial!
No specs are available yet, but I'm sure it won't rival the Stang in performance. That wouldn't be smart business for Ford.

Please. Until this car, there's no major production Ford that can compete with new Camaro for looks, or the newer Charger, outside of the last T-Bird, maybe.
The newer Mustangs are ok. They're not ugly, but they're not head turning.
I'm not talking about performance. Just looks. -

You think? I think the new Camaro has more of a "boxy" look to it. Blunt snout, wide haunches. The Torino is way more streamlined and angular. -

Pagan, when you say won't rival the performance of the Stang, do you mean the Cobra? Because anytime that snake logo is on a car you know it's gonna be packin'.
It has to at least be more powerful than the current Mustang GT.
My guess is it would be in between the Mustang GT and the GT500 as far as performance, and priced accordingly (If it does get put into production, which I'm assuming it will) -
and if clint eastwood is ever sitting in the car, it automatically goes 65 MPH faster....because his awesomness feeds into the horsepower

Should be interesting. They're saying the 2012 GT500 will come stock with 650 horses. I'm betting the Torino will hover around 500.
