A judge in Norfolk sentenced Marcus Vick to 20 days in prison for violating the terms of his parole, but Vick was released on bond after his attorney said he planned to appeal the decision.
Vick, who played quarterback at Warwick High School and Virginia Tech before his pro career fizzled, was convicted last October for driving under the influence, eluding a police officer, and driving on the wrong side of a divided highway. His 12-month prison sentence was suspended, but among the terms was that he stay away from drugs and alcohol.
Subsequently, Vick tested positive for marijuana at a screening, failed to complete his required drug and alcohol counseling sessions and did not pay court costs, as required, until today.
