Hmmm, maybe it was a smart idea to draft two DBs with high picks. ;) Thank God this staff actually has a clue. :D
    :D
    Yup!
Man, I know that we've known this for sometime now, but Wow!.. that's a tough lineup. We, just about, face all of the leagues best passing offenses this year. Yikes! .. Ahh. You can't worry about that because to be the best you have to beat the best, so I welcome the challenge. Bring it on b-otch! :D

Is everyone forgetting about Steve Smith? We gotta play him too. He isn't as physically big as Moss/Owens, but the guy makes plays.

In fact here are the 2008 stats for all 4 receivers:

    Terrell Owens - 69 Receptions, 1,052 Yards, 10 TD's

    Randy Moss - 69 Receptions, 1,008 Yards, 11 TD's

    Steve Smith - 78 Receptions, 1,421 Yards, 6 TD's

    Andre Johnson - 115 Receptions, 1575 Yards, 8 TD's

    *Andre Johnson is a BEAST

If we get pressure on the QB, it won't matter who's out there running routes.

    Steve has a twin....:shifty:

The Steelers and Colts as well, but to me by that point of the season if V Davis and S Smith play they will be up to speed by that late in the season.

Smith is a guy I would want Will Allen and only Will Allen covering TBH... Moss should be doubled, no matter what IMO. It'd be wise to do the same for Johnson... TO I think we can man up..

I think you can counter great WRs with a great pass rush. And I think we have the pieces to have a great pass rush.

If we can improve our pass rush, and I think we did, AND we improve our DB, and I think we did, the combination will take care of the problem.

And we have two, veteran, hard hitting safeties, that is the unsaid secret to a good pass defense, Safeties who blow up Wr when they catch the ball.

Well, we know how to beat the Patriots.
    Pass rush.
And if we can beat them, pretty sure we can handle everybody else on that list.

The saints dont have much?? Colston is a legit threat and their QB is so good that it doesnt matter who he is throwing too, it makes them a threat.

I hear ya', the Colts, Chargers and Saints may not have great WRs as the thread title states, but it's safe to say that those are three very potent passing offenses. They are some of the best in the league. Their great QB play offsets their lack of having that super dominant, star receiver or whatever, but I totally agree about the NJ Jerks(I don't consider them a NY team:D).

this year we have vastly improved secondary
    however
the pass rush will launch them into warp speed
tough for a QB to be rushed all day
or laying on his back trying to make completions

That's a good point. IMO pass rush and S play are the keys to stopping any passing attack. It used to be CBs, but the rules have neutered them.

Yep, I totally agree with you and Padre here. I've said, what fells like a million times before, that when we played and got burned by guys such as Fitz, Boldin, A. Johnson, etc., one of the biggest problems was that our safeties gave absolutely NO support to our CBs in covering those guys. There's not many corners in the league, if any, that could handle guys like that, one on one, with no support at all from their safeties. We, unfortunately, saw the result of this problem and I'm quite sure that Parcells & co. saw this as well. It was one of the positions which we first tried to upgrade in the off season, thank God. I really hope Wison is an upgrade and I'm pretty confident that he will be and who knows, hopefully Chris Clemons will develop into a really good player. It's early, but there's been some good signs.

Bro, that is one of our hidden "keys" to a repeat season, no one, and I mean no one, expects our secondary to be one of the top 7 in the NFL, G Wilson may as well be invisible, ditto Will Allen.

But quitely, add in JT and Wake, our defense will be much stronger this year then any so called expert is predicting.

"If" Wilson and Bell are the best safety duo in the AFC East, we will have a 8-11 win season, Randy Hill was torched constantly, ditto Jason Allen, we've upgraded both positions.

G Wilson could have 100 tackles this season, Bell could as well, a duo of Safeties having 100 tackles is rare.

Now "what if" JT plays at a high level along with Cam Wake?

Our "D" could be top 5 if the new acquisition play to their career levels.
