I'm tired of this team always looking at the past to replace players. Let's, for once, look ahead and get a young, hungry guy. Not a guy who is washed up and has already hit his pay day and is past his prime.

 

I think they plan to, Foster would be an absolute emergency signing if the draft totally goes down the ****ter (from a tailback perspective).

There's nothing about signing Foster that would preempt the Dolphins from drafting a back if they want to.

I didn't troll the Seattle Seahawks fan sites but I wonder if many of them said some of the same things about Marshawn Lynch's signing from Buffalo that's being said here about Foster.

Agreed, but when healthy Foster is a top five running back. Now after his most recent injury he may never recapture that form, especially when we factor in his age. However, if he can get heathy and recapture his form then he could be a good addition to this team. After all, we do not need to run him into the ground like the Texans did. All we need to do is create a one-two punch with Ajayi, giving our talented young back enough carries to make an impact. We could start Foster and spell him with Ajayi, or we could start Ajayi and spell him with Foster. Either way could work because both guys are capable of making plays when given the ball, and Foster is a very capable receiver, which would be valuable in Gase's system. At the right price he's an excellent addition and brings experience to an otherwise young and inexperienced position. I think adding a veteran to the backfield could be wise given we have two talented but inexperienced running backs on Ajayi and Williams.

 

Suspect the point behind a Foster signing is he would pick up the scheme quickly and help in pass protection.

 

Lynch was 24, that's a huge difference.

 

So apparently he is not healthy enough to play now but it doesnt hurt to do our due diligence for when he does get healthy which will be approx mid season.

 

He can keep that to himself... but he might need a little prayer running/limping behind our OL.

 

We had a young, talented, and hungry back, so we did what we do with those type of players, we let him go. He is now with Houston. Based on our past, Arian Foster, with all his injuries and washed up status, is a SURE FIRE PICKUP for us! Consider him a Dolphin already.

What in your opinion would it have taken to get him back 4/28? Do you think he would be worth such an investment with the teams cap issues?

Lol, I told one of my friends that Miami will probably give Foster a 4 year deal worth $20m.

 

He got a cap-friendly offer. You're seeing first ration about Miller for a few reasons:

1. We have a history of not drafting well, and when we do, we mis-use and lose the few talented players we do draft.

2. The available options are a pretty clear down-grade from what we had with Miller.

It's frustrating to see this team whiff so much in the draft, and then not be able to keep its rising stars. We burned 2 high picks on CB's in one draft for Pete's sake and they're both starting for other teams.
