    This is a great step in the right direction. For me, even though I have DirecTV I don't get my locals in HD because I live in rural Kansas. At least now I'll have the option to zoom in on a letterboxed SD presentation and see what I'm missing in SD.

    A lot of people were saying yesterday (at least from what I read) that a lot of local affiliates were simply chopping off the sides of the broadcast to have it fill out the whole 4:3 screen.

    I mean, wow.

    Yep, thats what happened in the Savannah market, which of course made it worse when they put up the stats as you could only see the Falcon side.:no:
