That sucks. Poor guy. Don't care what anyone says, he looked great out there for a guy his age, and with his medical history.
It will be interesting to see how this changes our offensive gameplan yet again this year. I know alot of people like to complain Drake isn't getting any carries, and Gore is when Drake is the big play threat, but I think the intent for our offense the last few weeks has been a heavy dose of Gore to start the game and wear down and tire out the D, so Drake could get his chances for big plays later on. Was a bit puzzled to see Ballage yesterday get the nod over Drake, but maybe they view him more like Gore, just a straight ahead runner. Problem Sunday was the game got away from us so early they abandoned the run anyways and it didn't matter much anyways the way our OL was just manhandled and confused. -

I hated it when they signed him, but became a fan seeing how hard he ran.
KeyFin, Pauly, Phin McCool and 1 other person like this. -
I thought it was a joke when they signed a 35-year-old running back. I was wrong. Full respect. Hope the damage is minimal and Gore comes back next year.

I'd be interested to see if we can work drake and ballage both on the field at once. Both have potential to get chunk yards and present different abilities that the defense needs to account for.
Failing that, Gase needs to watch lots of New Orleans tape.
I like Gore, and he did some yeoman's work for us ... but not sure he was or is what we needed. -
This is terrible news. Hopefully he decides to keep playing and further extend his legacy into the record books.

Loved him this year. But there’s a reason why running backs dont play passed 35.
It might be whats best for him to retire before he gets hurt worse. -
This team has a curse in their players or their conditioning is absolute ****

There are a ton of injuries you can't really prepare in any way for. Some may be avoidable...some not...idk. -

What sucks is the Dolphins were top 10 in games lost in 2016 and 2017. I think we'll be the same this year. Why that matters is teams that are in the top 12 make the playoffs only 10% of the time. There are a lot of people that discount injuries with sayings like " injuries happen to every team". Well yeah and as long as you're in the bottom 2/3 that saying makes sense. Its once you get into the cursed top 1/3 that that saying becomes meaningless and wrong. Its why basically once you become one of the most injured teams in the NFL I lower the ceiling to 9-7 for my expectations. The record just outside of what it usua;lly takes to make the playoffs. If you have the 5th most injuries in the NFL and you get a 9-7 record that to me is like winning the Super Bowl. You've achieved all you couldAGuyNamedAlex likes this. -

It is quite sad when you think about it, we can never put that complete team together.
With Marino, we never got him the running game he needed, and the defense was average. At least with a top tier defense and Marino you got some playoffs wins and a super bowl shot... but most his years we surrounded him with mediocrity.
Then when hes done with the NFL, we finally have a top defense and one of the best running backs to take the field... but at the same time we had possibly the worst quarterback to start..
With saban, we probably were never in better shape as a unit. Our teams conditioning was off the charts, we looked like warriors... still no quarterback..
When are we gonna put it all together..adamprez2003 likes this.
