Sounds like we are signing WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Unsure of terms. Solid third WR and a good complement. I wonder if this signals we are sticking with Tyreek for one more year. While I personally prefer to move on, it makes sense that an embattled GM and staff would try to make another run with him.
Payton liked him a lot and showed improvement. There was a respect there and gave him a shot to find a better situation to play.
Man I really liked him coming out of college, but I haven't really followed him since lol. Still between him and Melifonwu it takes away the dire need at safety while leaving it open for a BPA pick at some point.
"That run was cut short when Daniels tore his Achilles in the fourth game of the season, so the Dolphins will be hoping he’s back to full health by the start of the season" Isn't this just so Grier?
Signing a mostly back up Safety from the Jets who is coming off a season with missed time due to a concussion. …..so Grier. Now he’s just messing with us. (messing wasn’t the word I wanted to use)
Mariota re signed with the commanders one year 8 million.. i wouldve given him that. O well, zach will do
Wouldn't say no worries, but the question isn't IF he plays but HOW he plays. Hopefully the answer is ... well. Daniels is an excellent fit and not too pricey for the potential (especially when you see the contracts guys like Banks and Fries were getting). We also signed that dude from the Bears and it sounds like we may convert him to guard. Whether that's plan B in case Daniels doesn't rebound or plan A for the other side of the line I don't know. I'd still like to see us pick up another good starter. Overall, it does seem like we are looking heavily at players with some injuries, but we aren't paying them top value. We don't really have the money to get the elites across the board here - we went somewhat bargain hunting last year and had some really nice hits. Let's hope we can get similar results this year.
I rarely agree with you but this was exactly what I thought when I heard about the signing lol. Every FA we bring in seems to be damaged goods. Chubb, Conner Williams, Armstead just to name a few.
K.J. Britt is moving further South in Florida. The former Buccaneers linebacker is signing a one-year deal with the Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Britt, 25, was a fifth-round pick in the 2021 draft. He’s appeared in 59 games with 15 starts — 11 of which came in 2024. He had his most productive season last year, tallying 72 total tackles with two for loss and a half-sack. Britt was on the field for 65 percent of defensive snaps in games played and 29 percent of special teams snaps. In all, Britt has posted 126 total tackles with four for loss and two QB hits. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the team has agreed to terms with Anthony Walker on a one-year deal. Walker will help fill the hole left by K.J. Britt. Britt will returning the favor as he has agreed to a deal to help replace Walker on the Dolphins defense. Walker played 14 games and made eight starts for the Dolphins last season. He had 68 tackles, a sack, an interception, and two passes defensed.

I like this move. I like him. A strong back and he’s a good receiver as well. I hope he still has some good tread on the tires.
The Dolphins are adding a tight end. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Pharaoh Brown has agreed to a one-year deal with Miami. Brown, 30, spent last season with the Seahawks. He appeared in 15 games with seven starts and recorded eight catches for 65 yards. He was on the field for 27 percent of offensive snaps and 47 percent of special teams snaps in games played. Having entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Brown has played 87 games for the Raiders, Browns, Texans, Patriots, and Seahawks. He’s caught 72 career passes for 751 yards with three TDs.
I get that Grier is being frugal with these free agent signings, but any impact players we end up getting are going to come from the draft. I feel like he drafts better than he does in free agency (for what that's worth). Seems to me like these are all depth/dart throws on guys you hope come through for us. I don't know why the infatuation with players coming off of Achilles tears or shredded ACL injuries. The only addition I think he actually got right was the Westbrook signing. Westbrook caught passes from Will Levis last year. Once Zach Wilson becomes the starter in week 2, I suspect that we'll end up seeing Westbrook lead us in receptions and yards. James Daniels will probably take some time before he's ever healthy. In my opinion he was the most important addition we made. We absolutely needed to upgrade the offensive line and Grier went for a guy coming off an Achilles injury (those take about years to come back from). A torn Achilles back in the day meant your career was basically over. I'm hoping for the best here with the guys we added, but this idiotic pattern in which Grier operates in continues to yield frustrating results. How much money has he burned on players that sign here only to spend the season injured or ineffectively in and out of lineups? I'm not going to waste any more time writing paragraphs about how much I dislike Grier, but I'll close with this. He's part of the reason this team hasn't won a playoff game this century.
Gay is a decent enough addition at LB. Between him, Brooks, Britt and Dodson feels like we may be closing the door on Jihad Campbell. Secondary and OL remain glaring needs, you could argue another solid pass catching TE. Based on Griers history that means our pick is likely secondary. Get familiar with Will Johnson, Jahdae Barron, Malachai Starks and Nick Emmanwori (who we apparently either did or will meet with).
