I am surprised by how much love Bess is getting in the last few weeks. He does deserve it. Just surprised that people are noticing him.
Hard not to want to see this young man become the best that he can and have a long successful career with the Miami Dolphins. Love his drive, effort, and ability to catch the ball, but most of all you have to love his heart.
I have to disagree with that one. In my opinion Bess showed that he has just as much if not more ability in the short game, and he actually became a good intermediate threat towards the end of the season. If I had to take one of the two I'm taking Bess every time.
Camarillo plays very well in the short to intermediate routes in my opinion and showed that he was willing to make the tough catches across the middle. I think he's quickly being forgotten due to the draft picks and his injury.
That's why many players are forgotten... It's the way the business works. What has Camarillo done for us now? What about Bess? It sucks for Camarillo, but it's the way the cookie crumbles...
Camarillo doesn't have the same potential as Bess however. I mean this is just my opinion, but what you see in him is what he will be the rest of his career. Bess actually has a pretty high ceiling talent wise, again just my opinion. Also to the other post (not yours) about Camarillo outplaying Bess when they were both healthy, Cam is an established player and Bess was an undrafted free agent. He just didnt get the playing time or the looks. Its not that Cam outshined him.
Did he though? I think Camarillo was the starter ahead of Bess until he got hurt. Generally means the staff felt Camarillo was a better player than Bess...
I agree with you in regards to the potential of Bess but I meant right now. I don't think Bess is much better, if at all, then Camarillo. I still think Camarillo is getting the short stick because of the off-season.
He was and once Bess became the starter he played better. At least that is what threads by both Shouright and CKParrothead have shown me. The thread that CKParrothead wrote about 3rd down efficiency of the wide recievers, showed me that Bess was much more effective than I gave him credit for. Another thing that shows me the staff feels better about Bess is that they drafted a clone of Camarillo in Brian Hartline. They did not sign or draft another Bess like player.
