yeah. i want to go to the game, so do my brother and friends. but we figure, lets see what we could get for em. you'll be hard pressed to find better seats on ebay. i doubt they'll sell, but for 5 bucks(listing fee), its worth the shot.
I sat in 110, row 11 and they were great seats. The front row will get you on tv if you are clever... 5 large is a little much for the card tho...
Just as a marketing guy, I think you should be targeting the NY Jets fans here. Thus, making the Dan Marino card worthless in the deal. From an article in the Palm Beach Post, only 50,000 tickets have been sold, thus putting the 10 yr streak of non-blacked out games in jeopardy. This means that there isn't as much interest in the Miami Dolphins. I'd be interested to see the numbers released from the Miami Dolphins about individual ticket sales for this game. I know that myself and 7 of my friends bought 8 for the game. Going back on who you need to be selling to though, I think the price is a bit outrageous, but I don't think it's a stretch to see someone bite on those tickets for as much as $1,700. I'm figuring those tickets are around $250/ea. If you're seriously trying to sell them you're getting about $500 profit, which isn't bad (almost a 50% ROI, return on investment). The fan you're going to get buying those tickets for that kind of money, IMO is a NY Jet fan. Someone who has the money to fly down here and willing to splurge a bit for the Game, a weekend of fun in the sun, etc. Here's a few ideas I'd have--Market with some type of deal where you can contact them and help them get set up with a hotel, maybe give them some ideas for a tailgate/tailgate spot, party spots for Sat. or before the game etc. Just something where you can make it seem more like a weekend get away, with "watching Brett Favre and the Jets beat the Fins as a topper offer". Not to mention, you'll have a lot of folks (Miami fans) pretty jacked up for the Gators/Canes game the night before--some of your buyers will be on their way back from Gainesville.
yeah the marino card is solely for getting around nj law, and selling at or beneath face value. they dont care about the bath i take on pre-season games, but i cant try to make the difference back? so thats why i do it with the card. i dont expect to sell these, but there's definitely people out there with money, and this story has been probably the biggest in sports this year. hell, brett favre is bigger than the olympics...sad i know. so yeah, i figure i'll try to capitalize, and go for a home run. thats an awesome idea about the full service hotel and value package, but its also a liability i wouldnt want to take on. my 100% feedback is what helps sells these tickets(with all these hacks and crooks out there), so i wouldnt want to jeopardize that by selling something of a nature i didn't fully understand. i had planned on going to this game myself, but if i can get majority of my $$ back in one shot, why not?! worst case scenario, i go myself! It only cost like $5 to list the auction, so l gave it a shot. maybe i'll lower the price if it goes unsold. but you probably wont find better seats for the game, and i do have that going for me.
I wouldn't include the hotel and value package. I would just offer that when you speak to them. Like hey, a great hotel around the Stadium with a great night life is this...or if you want a good one around here. Just something added that the customer can appreciate. I definitely think you should capitalize. I don't think it's a stretch that you could get a bid for $2,000. You just have to sell to the right people. Interesting with the card. That's pretty cool. I'm going to the game. I wouldn't miss this one for the one...especially when we win!
