I don't have a source link, but Flores shared the news in a press briefing today. He said that Fuller has had a "setback with his injury" and is finished for the season.

He was suspended games 1 & 2. Played game 3, got hurt in game 4 (broken finger). Haven't seen him since.

One other clue is that he missed practice for some "personal, non-injury" time off in week 3. Flores approved it (or at least said he did), but I'm thinking mental health stuff is behind all of this.

I really suspect that there was something going on with him all year long that never got out of the building, and now the team is keeping the lid on it and just moving on, and taking the high road. We may never know. Glad to see him leave.

Will Fuller signed a 1 year, $10 million contract with the Dolphins. He’s played a total of 2 games, catching 4 passes for 26 yards.

Put this into perspective. Fuller was paid…

    $5 million dollars per game
$2 1/2 million dollars per catch
    $384,615.39 per yard
Based on a game lasting 3 hours, $1.6 million per hour.

This was one of, if not THE worst signings in Dolphins history

    Was it bad - YES.
Was it a long term deal with tons of dead money. No.
He's gone after this you and we were hoping to get a home run a player who had high potential. Sometimes you hit the ball over the fence and sometimes you foul out to the catcher.
But the worst singing in Dolphins history with a plethora of bad signings. Here are some highlights:
    - Rick Speilman's signing of Damion McIntosh to a six-year deal worth $23 million.
    - Jake Grove's five-year, $29.5 million deal with $14.5 million guaranteed. Played one year - more than the 10 to Fuller
    - Ernest Wilford 4 year $13 million with $6 million guaranteed.
    - Gabriel Wilson's 5 year $27.5 million with $8 million guaranteed.

So for the money it's bad. But they knew it was a prove it or lose it venture. These other signings were for "We know we've got someone here" types.

Yup, dude. It is that dead money that can just kill a team.

Soon to be someone else’s problem; despite doing absolutely nothing on his “prove it” contract, some other team will give him millions to underwhelm next season.

I get what you’re saying but those players you listed, unless I’m wrong, none of them played just 2 games. They were in the roster for multiple years and/or played multiple games. Whether or not they were productive is up for debate but I get your point. Dead money? No but a piss poor return on investment? Oh yea

I think Grove or one of the others just played two games. While I tend to agree with you on him, where I start to differ is intent. What I mean by that is they knew what they were getting into with the Fuller deal. He might pan out. Where the others were toted as great signings for years to come.

Also 2021 money/cost is way different then true cost of some of those earlier contracts. The amount of cap that was taken hamstrung us.
