Gillislee reminds me of Karim Abdul (Jabbar) in that he is almost but not quite fast enough to run away from a defender, almost but not quite agile enough to make a defender miss, and almost but not quite strong enough to break a tackle. As a result he looks almost but not quite good enough to be a contributor. I see why folks might like him, but to be a successful back you need to be able to either break a tackle or make someone miss, and if you can't quite do either that isn't going to lead to success. His kick returns followed the same theme.

That's a decent comparison. If you think about it though, having a third string back at the level of Jabbar isn't all that bad.

Was that when Sims running in the back of the endzone while Devlin was rolling right and Griese said Simms should have stopped. Devlin was not accurate last night. But overall preseason assessment is there was poor tackling, missed offensive opportunities to turn TO's into points, and still a complete lack of throwing the ball deep. Perhaps 2 deep balls thrown in 5 pre season games.

    AMERICA!
I just don't want to see Bob wind up on the sideline, slobbering over Suzy Kolber for a kiss.

I know it brings some sort of nostalgia when their bantering but yes, their banter does detract from the game..

I don't think Jonas Gray will make the team. I believe that opening Rodriguez had at the goal line would have probably been a TD if DT was carrying the rock. Thomas gets too much flack on this board. I think he's going to surprise early in the season then as usual, not stay healthy for the second half of the season.

oh... not sure about that... collarbone is the easiest bone to break in the human body. he probably lied down and had Paul Soliai do a push up off it.

I also think Lane finds that hole for a TD.

You don't think John Jenkins shoving Josh Samuda into the backfield would have effected Lane?

Based on what? DThomas has been one of the worst short yardage backs ion the league, from Day 1 of his career. That is statistically factual.

I'd have had more confidence in Gray in that situation than I would with Thomas

Based on 4 TD's on 21 attempts in the red zone. And what do you base him being one of the worst short yardage backs in the league on? He only has 94 carries. He actually has fewer fumbles per carry than Reggie the turn over machine Bush. There is not enough statistics on him for the flack he gets.

I totally missed everything because of my job. Someone give me the cliff notes. I don't even know the score or who won.
