Dallas Thomas is terrible. Everyone else as a unit looks LIGHT YEARS ahead of last season pass blocking. Run blocking has been terrible, especially on the weakside of the play. Allowing defenders to knife in and stretch the play outside to be cleaned up behind the clean.
Sack fumble within about 3 seconds of the snap. Pass blocking was adequate but shaky earlier. Run blocking obviously non-existent.
Best 3-tech in the League. Said as much on page 2 of this thread cause I wanted to watch specifically for who could hold up against him....welp.
On the good side, facing a team with a good DL like Tampa gives an indication of how far the O-Line still has to go. On the negative side, our division features excellent D-lines in Buffalo and NY, so they really need to find the answers and jell.
Shelby the sack... but of course... defensive holding on Elerbe on likely an irrelevant part of the play, but Godell says call it all...
Take it in that Ellerbe is playing against the second string. Him being in the game signals to me that he coaches are giving him every opportunity to not suck, i.e., he's being pressured to perform or pack it in.
Sometimes I also think we need to step back and realize this is a league where QB's complete 60+ percent of passes fairly regularly. It shouldn't be too shocking.
I like Landry as a returner. He's correctly fielded both punts like a natural even though he hasn't done it in a long time.
This is pretty much a preview of what the Bills game is gonna be like... both teams are very similar in that they both have a great, dominating DL, some good weapons in the offense, but mediocre QB play.
Outside of McCoy Tampa's DLine is nothing to write home about. Bills and Jets both have much better fronts, imo. If we can't run the ball we are effed. And it ain't lookin good.
