Camp is starting tommorrow and we all have that excited feeling. It is a familar feeling that we have. That optimism that its going to be different. We all want this year where we get some games, that are flexed because of how we are doing. Instead of just because we are playing a far superior team.
From the ****show in London where we flat out quit. To the two games where we destroyed Ten and Hou. It was a rollercoaster of emotions deep down inside i think if we won that NE game it would have been different.
The coaching had a ton to do with our troubles. Lazor and his horrible play calling is gone. Philbin and his farmer fran face is no longer picking up gum wrappers. Even Coyle and his inexcusable ****ty defense is gone.
We have a new staff ones that come from winning staffs. It may seem like that same feeling.
When i see Gase i see s bit of Sean Payton and its a silent ballsy deameanor. We young people would call that SWAG. It may look tough on the outside but the players respect him.
Now its true he needs to win or it goes out the window. My belief isnt in him winning its how he handles a loss. Or one loss becomes two in a row. How does he bounce back and how do players respond. Last year the players flat out QUIT,which is disheartning and cannot happen.
Tannehill has someone in his corner this time around. Im glad that we dont have Philbin anymore after sabotaging him for the last 2 years. It will be great to see the handcuffs taken off to get an idea of what we drafted.
These two will be joined at the hip and our success depends on both. I have a feeling that it will turn out pretty damn good.

I'm with you. There's something about Adam Gase that gives me supreme confidence. Philbin always seemed unsure of himself and his plan. Gase is confident, tough, and aggressive. After years of watching Philbin try to fit players to a particular scheme, we now have a coach who will build a scheme and a game plan based on the roster and what each player does best.
As for Tannehill, I've always been in his corner. He does need to improve, but I believe he finally has good coaching around to help him take that next step. Time will tell, but I think we're finally on the right track.dolfan7171, Aqua4Ever04, LI phinfan and 2 others like this. -

I'm always excited for football season. I ****ing love this stuff. Of course it sucks hard when we're not good, but nothing beats a fall Sunday. I'm turning 30 next week and I'm still like a little kid on Christmas morning when game day rolls around.

I have been looking forward to Friday for months now. I haven't had too many things go my way in 17-18 months, but this brings me joy and hope. Sorry to sound emotional, but it actually means everything to me. Without this, I am not sure what I have. With that said, I see a lot of talent on offense, coaching and personnel. Gase knows the history, he knows about Marino and Shula and he knows that coaches have come here to coach and never coach again - and still took the challenge. Sure we don't have superstars all around, but with Gase, he sure developed a few in Julius Thomas and Demariyus Thomas, both benefitting from his system

I just turned 50 also. And I agree...few things better than 1:00 in Oct.
