Thread is to talk about college football, all teams in general. I watch a lot of college football and would like to see opinions on the many different match ups. Right now watching a very close game between Louisville and UCF. Storm Johnson is a beast. He makes Reggie Bush like moves.
Well that ends the Bridgewater for Heisman talks. Don't know how you lose a game up by 21 points in the third quarter, then let UCF answer with 31 points. I don't see the hype with Bridgewater honestly, the guy plays very slow and lethargic.
That was a great game, and congrats to UCF. That was their first win against a top 10 team ever. I didn't realize that was Louisville's homecoming game until it was over. Going to be a long weekend for them.
UCF just showed me more heart than I've seen from a team all season. They're down 7-28 against Louisville, Louisville had just finished returning a mishandled punt for a touchdown. Louisville had ALL THE MOMENTUM, all of it. And UCF answers back with 21 straight points in the 3rd quarter and then adds another 3 points at the beginning of the 4th. I think the fumble by Percy was the game changer. I mean that put the ball in the red zone and shifted all the momentum.
I'm pretty excited about FSU/Clemson tonight. Seems like it's been a while since two ACC teams have been in the top five and played each other.
The surprise is easy to understand. Louisville had a top defense, allowing 9 points per game. Louisville was up 28-7 at one point in the middle of the third quarter. And then UCF stormed with 31 points after Louisville fell asleep thinking they already had the game wrapped up. And yeah, I'm excited for tonight's game. I think FSU wins in the end, I've seen Boyd struggle against weaker defenses and FSU has got a strong one.
A couple of SEC upsets today. The Vols beat #11 South Carolina 23-21, their first win over a top 15 team since 2009. Then Vanderbilt beat #15 UGA 31-27, their first home win against Georgia since 1991.
I had a feeling Vanderbilt would beat Georgia, Georgia has too many injuries and Todd Gurley doesn't seem to want to come back. Yeah he's injured but I question the severity of it. I'm shocked Mauk played as well as he did against Florida. He looked like a scrub replacing Franklin against Georgia.
Akron with their 2nd win of the season (doubling the individual win total of the past 3 seasons), and getting their 1st road win since like Sept 2008.
Manziel might suck as an NFL QB, but he's a fantastic college QB. He has more power as a runner than you expect.
Texas A&M is the absolute definition of a 1 man team.Without Manziel to make up for the worst defense in football they would lose every week.
Speaking of terrible defenses, why is Auburn 15 yards off every WR? Gimpy shoulder and you give Manziel wide open underneath throws? LOL I can't deal with these types of games.
LOL. Great job by Auburn to finally get some pressure at the end. Texas A&M got robbed by an OBVIOUS horse collar. Couldn't happen to a more deserving douche.
Sammy Watkins is gonna have to play big tonight. I've watched many Clemson games this year and trust me, they struggle against decent defenses.. FSU has an elite one.
Game living up the hype so far but stay tuned to the other game, Ole Miss is leading by 10 points against LSU. Would be a major loss for LSU but they still have a quarter and a half.
A lot of shake up in the AP poll tomorrow. I think you definitely have to put Missouri in the Top 10.
Missouri will be in the top 10 but won't last very long without Franklin. A loss to SC if Connor Shaw plays sounds likely. Tennessee could be tough if recent trends are any indication. And they have to play the Manziels.
Im guessing Im the only one here watching Oregon games just to see Mariota throw his first pick of the season haha (my wifes an Oregon fan)
Have the polls been updated already? Honestly I'm not sure if it will be that close a game, Miami needs to get healthy.
Not yet. First BCS rankings come out Sunday night. As for not being that close a game, we've seen this story play out too many times in the past. Florida State is the better team. But that doesn't matter when these 2 teams play. A better Florida State team has lost to Miami many times in the past. This isn't a Randy Shannon coached team. No more throwing snowballs at each other giggling on the sidelines of a bowl game getting blown out by ND. That culture is gone. Miami might lose the game, but I expect them to come in with determination we haven't seen in ages from a Miami team, and show people both of these teams are for real.
Wow Miami got jumped ahead by Baylor and Missouri.. That's a shocker. I definitely thought Miami gets to 5.
They're at 6 in Coaches Poll which is all that matters. AP Poll isn't calculated into BCS standings. Baylor jumped us but it is what it is. They'll drop one to Oklahoma, Texas Tech, or Okie State. And if not, we have to take care of FSU anyways.
why is that a shocker? Mizzou beat UGA & UF in back to back weeks. They beat UF handily and looked like the better team rather than getting outplayed most of the game but squeaking by like Miami. Baylor shouldn't penalized for not playing a top team yet; they're undefeated and are punishing teams with the current #1 scoring offense in the nation. Meanwhile Miami trailed the 1-5 Tarheels until 16 seconds left in the game.
LOL at you already looking past Va Tech. Canes will likely leave FSU with back to back losses and out of the top 15.
