Geocaching is the coolest thing ever, i never heard of it before today, and done it with a buddy of mine today and it was awesome. It was a small one that we found on campus, but we want to start doing this. It's basically a scavenger hunt.

And what was inside the cache?
EDIT: Just watched the whole video and it instructed for people to leave something of equal value in the cache if they take the contents. That could pose problems - see sick jokes here.
Also, they tell you to put them back exactly where you found them. Hopfully people do - without the sick jokes. -
imagine opening it to find that the previous person filled it with monkey poo.

This one was on my campus and it just had papers of who found it, and people left a stamp and such. The best part was just finding it. We followed the directions to go on to the top of the parking garage based on the clues.

Its pretty fun around here with all the rural country around us. A nice day of hiking, bike riding, 4 wheeler riding this is just a litttle something else to help enjoy the outdoors.

Who planted all these things? It must have taken a century.

was there some sort of community effort to place these things? even 10 years seems like not enough time to plant millions of these these around the globe. That's hundreds of thousands per year, tens of thousands per month, thousands per day over a very large area.

My buddy is a paramedic and does this out here in Cali. Its interesting...but it makes me wonder what his patients think when he is trucking towards the hospital and realizes he just passed 3 or 4 geocaches. Because I KONW the ****er is flipping a ***** and searching for them regardless of what is going on in his rig. :lol:
