Sure why not. He could help mentor a possible rookie this upcoming season. I tell you what, I miss the days of Madison and Surtain.

Madison is my 2nd favorite dolphin, but he needs to retire. i think he would be good as an analyst.

Sam Madison, the master of personal foul at the worst possible time... Loved him and hated him. T-Buck/Madison and Madison/Surtain were great times. We got lucky with corners for a few years (Troy Vincent prior).

Some say he's lost a step, I say he's lost two or there. Sam should retire at this point unless he wants to give it one last try somewhere. He isn't a starter anymore, thats for sure.

Man I remember the days of Madison & Surtain and what a young duo that was.

Well I think most of us do. But....today's Sam Madison is not that guy anymore.
He should ask to sign a 1 day contract and retire as a Miami Dolphin. Then go do something else with his life.

Wow. Time to come back home?[/QUOTE]

Dont get me wrong, I loved it when we had Surtain and Madison in our defensive backfield, but we do not need to get older and more injury prone on defense. We need young blood who are eager to prove themselves. I think Sam had a solid career and now needs to hit the golf course and relax for a while.

Maybe they could bring him in for depth? I also think he could beef up the FS position for us. And then at least I would have a jersey that belongs to a player who is actually on the team.

Loved him when he was a Dolphin, but I don't think he has anything left. He did get a Super Bowl ring and had a solid career. I'm happy for him.

You can't waste a roster space on someone who just doesn't have it anymore just because he can mentor.

Let him give up a big play or TD in an important game and tell me you're happy he's around to mentor.

i dont know about that brother, its a good debate though.

Personally i though he was overrated..i dont like corners who are'nt physical against the run. and he was about as unphysical as it gets.

and on another note, Sammy Knight didnt do much for us, but his replacements were worse.

When they were in their prime, they were an excellent combo.

ZT,JT, Timbow, Madison, Surtain, Marion, man that was a great defense.

I think he'd make a good red zone corner provided he can stay healthy. He can still be physical and in short spaces teams wont be able to take advantage of him stretching the field.

That said do you waste a roster spot on a red zone corner?
