Just got an update saying that Antonio Pierce was released by the Giants.
Link: HERE
Do you think Miami's brass consider him?
-
I wouldnt see why not, for the right price. This team seems like the Giant's style of D, hence the signings of Reggie Torbor and Gibril Wilson, and the recent hiring of Bill Sheridan.
-
I dont think he'd cost too much. I would think its under consideration.
-
He got old fast last year with the Giants, and we have old guys already. I'm on the no side of this.
We need to get younger and faster.endorPHINS1972, 2socks and The G Man like this. -
I don't think it will come to pass
we need serious upgrades @ ILB -

Antonio Pierce could be a great option at ILB. He shouldn't ask for too much money assuming Cleveland lets him clear waivers. I'm thinking we sign him to free up draft picks for receivers. I see him giving us three quality years and in that space we can draft his replacement.
If we make a few signings and draft picks these could be impact players. Some of them are wishful thoughts but if we can get either Peppers and Pierce or Wilfork and Pierce we can have a close roster.
QB- Chad Henne
RB- Ronnie/Ricky
Wr- Dez Bryant & Demayrius Thomas (Drafted First and Second Round)
TE- Anthony Fasano
FB- Lousaka "Tripping" Polite (still love him)
NT- Vince Wilfork
OLB- Julius Peppers
ILB- Antonio Pierce
CB- Vontae Davis & Sean Smith
OLB- Cameron Wake
I'm not a GM so don't judge me. I'm just an 18 year old Dolphins fan.dolfan7171 likes this. -
Considering Miami isn't big on FA and that they like to work via the draft Peppers, Wilfork, Or Pierce maybe, but I don't see all three.
And I don't judge.dolfan7171 likes this. -
I would love for our team to look like that but that won't happen

Not trying to rain on your parade, but.....
the LBs will set us farther back not get us closer.
between Peppers, Pierce and Wake there's little experience in the 3/4.
Wilfork would be cost prohibitive - between the compensation the Pats will demand and the new salary that Wilfork would demand, as well, there's little to no chance of him being a Dolphin.
What about WR? Do you start the 2 rookies? If so look for another year of "not yet".
I think go after Boldin through a trade. Sign Larry Foote in FA. Keep JT and Wake, but draft ILB and OLB early. Look for a NT mid round.Whitedolphin54 likes this. -
The problem with Pierce is that he has a neck problem and his play has declined the past few years.
Not sure I'd touch this one.Tin Indian likes this. -

So we go into the draft, get an ILB and a NT, throw the ball to Ted Ginn and finish 6-10? This is our best scenario. We won't have much impact players in the draft. I'd like you to suggest anything else that would be better for us. This would stabilize us for the next 3 years or so allowing us to draft and develop players around good players. I'm not saying we can get this exactly but it's better than the alternative of drafting players and letting Channing Crowder and Jason Allen teach them how to play.

Too bad, too. Real good linebacker. -
Anquan Boldin is a WR
Larry Foote is an ILB (who has played most of his NFL career in a 3/4 defense) -
As someone who saw the majority of his reps the last few years: GOD NO, PLEASE PASS
-
aging. declining production. undersized for a 3-4.
So hopefully not.
