Okay,
So that flea flicker pass hit ginn while he was in double coverage about halfway through the endzone and he had to catch it (in double coverage) and he did so one handed and STILL got both feet down. Also, camarillo was open on the side (at least more so than Ginn) and Penny threw (deep) to him anyway.
This shows a LOT of trust has been built up between these two.

When Ginn has good games every week in and out I will be convinced but I do know Pennington doesn't really have a #1 WR and if he did it would be Camarillo. So that limits Ginn in that way. He is improving and has at least shown me he isn't a total bust and has promise.

Yeah, i dont think anyone is going to be silenced just yet, he's had one big game, and one good game today. He caught his first td pass here in our 9th game. Not what you want from your #1 receiver.
with that being said, he's progressing at least this year. We see him getting open, we're seeing him making plays. IMO, he's still to inconsistent though.
He's improving, and he's going to be a good player when he becomes more consistent.
I'll give you one thing, that flea flicker means one of two things. Either you are right, and pennington is putting some more trust in Ginn now to be able to come up with some big plays, or that pennington just made a really bad decision on that play that worked out well :lol:Crappy Tipper likes this. -
Ginn isn't behind camarillo by much in yards. This game might have pushed Ginn over him, actually.
G. Camarillo 47 504 10.7 33 1
T. Ginn 34 457 13.4 64 1
those are the stats. I don't know if those are before this game or not. I do have a good feeling that if it's before this game that Ginn may have overtaken Camarillo for yards and TDs, though. If it's before this game add 67 yards and 1 TD to Ginn. Add 21 and no TD to camarillo.
I understand what you're both saying.. that it's consistency week in and week out. And I agree. But like you said at least people should stop calling him a bust. And that's basically what I was getting at. -
Let's not get to carried away just yet. 1 catch doesn't make him a God.

i'm not saying he's a god.
i'm just saying usually it takes a couple years for a WR to find his niche. keep looking for ginn because I'll bet as a non betting man that he's going to continue to make plays.djphinfan likes this. -
Im not trashing ginn, or your post here or anything steve, but nobody is going to be silenced just yet. He's proving those critics wrong, but next week if he comes out, and only has say.. 3 catches for 30 yards... theyre still going to be all over him. He's got to bring it, and get open consistently and make plays consistently before people get off his back. Sad but true. Its not his fault he was picked alot higher than he probably deserved to.
I do agree with you though, he's going to keep making plays as his career goes along, you can easily see his progression through this season.:up:alen1 likes this. -
that was the best catch i have ever seen him maked

Also, on that flea-flicker, they showed a replay with Camarillo run an out route wide open downfield. If that throw to Ginn would have resulted in an interception, I would have gone crazy.brandon27 likes this. -
I understand what you're getting at.
I completely agree with the sentiments. I'd just like the "bust" talk about him to go down around here that's all. We're sitting at 5-4 today and his one handed catch in the endzone was a big reason for that.
And for me it's not all about plays and how many yards the player gets but also when he gets them. That TD on the opening drive was huge because his return got taken back due to a holding call. If we ended up getting a FG instead of 6 there that would not have been good and would have been the difference maker.brandon27 likes this. -
Can't silence the critics just yet, but it's obvious Ginn has some upside. Maybe his third year, he'll really start to turn it on. Sometimes it takes good WRs three years to get it going.
Clearly, he's not the bust some of us thought he might be. But great, worthy of the ninth pick? Time will tell.
Plus - poor Ginn, not his fault - since he wasn't Brady Quinn at the time he was drafted, there's always that stigma to overcome.
Felt bad for him on the opening KO. That was definitely holding, but the bad thing is he didn't need to do that. He could have let the defender go and he wouldn't have come w/in five yards of Ginn at that point. Totally unecessary, and cost Ginn yet another KO return TD.
That said - that play shows just how explosive he is!! -

but yes, it was one hell of a catch. how he did that, one handed in double coverage, and kept in bounds is beyond me. I know i coudlnt do it  -

Ginn is playing good football, from what we have seen from him this year and the fact that he is in his 2nd year, and what he is doing on returns, i see no reason for anyone to be critical of him...thats just my opinion, but iam a dolphin fan just like ya'll, so why should we think so differenty, the guy has been ballin.

A better title would have been "Ginn Critics Have Patience". Ginn is getting more into the flow of the game and improving. He may never be a great wide receiver but he has the abilities and talent to be a good receiver, His growth as a wide receiver and a pro player has been somewhat hindered by the confusion on this team and lack of a decent quarterback to pass to him. Now that we have a decent QB and good coaches he is starting to show flashes of what he can be. As always this is JMO.

like Sparano keeps saying...Ginn is getting better and better and the results are starting to show. Amazing catch in the end zone and a few more big ones to go with it. Ginn is a hard worker with a ton of talent and heart and I have no doubt in my mind he will be a great player for us if he keeps working his *** off.

At any rate, he has the skills and needs some help from the rest of the Offense, which is finally coming along...but you're right, he's not Jerry Rice yet....
