So, I was driving home from work Friday afternoon when I noticed something...odd. While driving northbound on 880 through the San Jose area, I noticed a street sign that I have passed by, maybe 1,000 times. But this time, it finally hit my like a ton of bricks.
Our very own Gish, has a street named after him. Don't believe me? Here is visual proof:
Not really trusting my eyes, or my camera phone, I decided to venture further up the freeway, only to be confronted with this:
So there you have it. Gish, somehow has a street named after him, and in a major metropolitan area to boot! Now, I am pretty sure that they only name streets after you for one of the following reasons:
A: Politician Local or National
B: Did a heroic deed. Most likely died, but that isn't a pre-requisite
C: Some type of sports person or a local person who has become famous
So which is it? Am I missing a category? Is Gish some type of person we should actually be respecting instead of mocking mercilessly behind his back and in front of his face?
I am so confused. What is up is now down, black is now white. The world is spinning off its axis. The apocolypse is upon us.

D:The city felt that they had to come up with a way to warn people about stds and to advertise said stds. Herpes road would be to controversial so they came up with a slang term for it. Such as "wow my Gish is really acting up on me today" or "You son of a ***** you gave me Gish" and so on......

I've gotta be honest guys. I'm not really a guy that likes to boast about things I've done. But this road was named after me because I founded a charity that led to the developement of that entire area. It has helped countless children get the attiention they need, and countless adults find a steady job to put a roof over their family's head and meals on their table. I initially rejected their offer to name the road after me, but they insisted. I am humbled and honored to have my name represent an area that has helped so many good people.
