Would have been nice to have him as rotation depth, but since he is a Pat now I can't really wish him well on his football career. He got his big contract though (relatively speaking) so congrats to him and his family on that.
Enjoy Cam Newton as your QB! :chuckle: -

No numbers yet, but it appears to be a done deal.Pennington's Limp Arm likes this. -
I guess us targeting their free agents is a two way street now that we are getting better.
Liked Godchaux, nothing flashy, but was solid and inexpensive for us.
Can’t wish him well now unfortunately! -
Doesn't sound like they're done either. They've already signed TE Jonnu Smith and I just saw this:
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Patriots are making a "major push" for free agent pass rusher Matt Judon.
Judon bickered with the Ravens about his position, but he is a top-shelf pass rusher who played under the franchise tag the past two seasons. His sack numbers declined in 2020, but he still racked up quarterback hits. He would add firepower to a defense that was lacking it last season. Sensing a tentative market amidst hesitance created by the lower salary cap, the Patriots are trying to make decisive moves in the opening hours of the "legal tampering" period.

Wonder if this means they're going for a QB early in the draft? Never seen them this aggressive day #1 in FA -

I just thought about this- the Pats aren't doing this trade in good faith. We've seen photos of Godchaux and Watson hanging out recently and the two are close friends. Could this be an evil Pats strategy to enter the Watson sweepstakes? And does that mean we're out of it? Surely Miami would have thought of that before making the move.
