Even though I live in Delaware and about an hour away from the track I have never gone to the race. Well Fri. my wife drove our ambulance to the track for the truck race, so I rode along and went in and watched the truck race. Good souls was that a hoot! So we ended up getting some tickets for today's race. For any race fan that has yet to go and see a race in person, you gotta do it! TV does not do it justice, the feel of the breeze as the cars go by and the rumble of pure horse power is incredible.

Good for you, that's awesome! Dover's a great track for your first race. I went to Watkins Glen (about 2 hours from my house) for my first race, and that's a much better TV race than live, because you can't see more than 1/4 of the track.
My wife and I were going to go to Daytona this year, but plans changed when we got pregnant. -
I hope to catch my first one this summer. Let us know what you thought.

Glad you got to catch a race! you are right. For those of you who think Nascar is boring to watch... go see the event live. You just dont get a sense of the speed when watching on tv. Its insane what 200mph looks like, wish several cars side by side when youre right there. Saw my first race a few years back at Michigan. When i was at qualifying on the Friday, it was incredible to stand at the start/finish line down by the fence, see a car come off turn 4, and have it instantly blurring by your face. Just incredible.
Now if you REALLY want a rush... Track down the Richard Petty Driving experience if/when it comes to Dover, for about a hundred bucks(thats what it cost me in Vegas anyways last year) theyll suit you up, toss you in the passenger side and take you for a high speed ride around the track!!! going 170mph around Las Vegas Speedway was one of the coolest things ive ever done! -

And as much as I like Denny Hamlin, the way he's handled himself the last couple weeks has taken his stock down a few notches in my book. First that bizarre incident with Keselowski in the Nationwide series, and then this week, he came barreling in to that crash, for God knows what reason. And then, took absolutely no responsibility for it afterwards. The best way I could describe that interview was the sage words of Chili Palmer, "you're trying to tell me you ****ed up without sounding stupid. And that's a hard thing to do." -
Thanks for some insight:up:
