Typing on iPhone, so sorry in advance. What a weekend. Flew into Columbus and watched jacory throw 4 ints. Ohio state fans were very cordial. No smack talki g before or after game. Drove to Cleveland after game. Woke up and drove to buffalo. Never been to buffalo before. No desire to return. I dug the old-school stadium though. They say that place holds 70,000+ but it feels cozy. Got to the game early in my #77 xl children's jersey. I'm not a big dude. I see, in the corner of the endzone about 12 people, large people, all with 77s too. I walk over and ask, you guys the long family? They say yes and I thank them for Big Jake. They laugh and my dad takes my pictue with them. All with 77s, only I was half the size of the rest of em. More pregame fun: they had this thing onthe scoreboard whee u could send a txt and they'd put it up on the scoreboad. My brother txted "we're not fish, were mammals!" and they put it up. I tried "Norwood!!!" but they denie me. I had to get a bit more clever so I tried "the buffalo GLBTQ community loves our Bills!!!!1!" and it worked!!! (google it). Got a photo of it for my new sig. And the they played a football game. Gotta love our new defense. Impressed by the open field tacklng by the line, lbs, cbs, and safeties. Spiller is no joke and we shut that speedy bastard down. The offense will be fine. Bills fans were, from where I was sitting, were old, quiet, and resigned to the fact that their team sucks. When we hit the fg to get to 13 pts, I stood and cheered. The guy behind me said, "sit down, Flipper. You're beating a team of ******ed girls". That made me really happy. They k ow they suck. Before the game, they honored their Hall of famers: about ten of em. I was the only person to give Jim Kelly anstanding ovation. It was pathetic. They cheered loudly for Thurman, bur it was certainly not roaring by anynmeans. These people suck. I almost felt sorry for them, but then I thoguth about Louis Oliver chasing Andre reed in the snow and chose not to. I hate Buffalo. Screw them and their pathetic organization. Fun trip despite losing one game and winning in a snoozer!
I'm amazed you didn't leave there a size larger with all the good food in buffalo, seems that's all people do there is eat. No duffs, anchor bar, beef on wheck, mighty taco, jims steak out??????? Please tell me you got some wings at least in the airport?
Thanks for a look inside the enemy's house! In fairness though, that game was not a snoozer. I thought my heart was about to explode a good 4 or 5 times there. I'm really hoping we start playing blowout games, cause I can't take much more of this, lol
Layover in Baltimore Go Ravens!!! After the game, we got some excellent wings at duff's. Drank a lot of Molson draft. Was asleep at kickoff of the SNF game. Was in Buffalo for about 24 hours. Shoulda hit Niagra Falls, but prioritized wings and beer and sleep!!
That sounds like the shiznit. Awesome, good to hear you had a blast out there the second day. Dude, I gotta see those pics of Long's parents. Never seen real life titans. LOL @ fake GLBT loving the Jills... what's the Q stand for?
Yeah. I wonder how many people in the stadium knew what the heck they were reading. Oh well, it was funny to me! My brother took the photo. Hopefully, it will be in my sig for a long time.
Yeah, buffalos a really sad place. Then the spirits lift up for hockey season, until they ultimately choke in the playoffs....
It's probably the other way around in these parts. Apparently, the Panthers have no idea what "playoffs" are or how to get there.
Yesterday was my 10th trip to that Stadium to see the Dolphins .... and the first time they've won!! I can tell you for certain - in the late 80s, early 90s, that crowd was brutal to opposing fans. Now, and the last few years, they are very cordial. Yesterday was the easiest yet on me. It's crazy how down they are on that football team right now. If it wasn't for the big party that is Bills tailgating, they'd draw about 40K per game. But back in the Bills' heydey, the crowd was a monster! I can tell you, Buffalo can be depressing, but it has some cool places/bars, etc. and Niagara Falls (especially the Canadian side) is a great place to visit. You should hit it next time - we usually do. This year, the wife and I stayed in the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, same hotel as the team did as it turns out. Had no idea - my wife booked it w/ her points she had. Saw all the major stars heading out to the bus yesterday morning. And I think I saw Jake's family of 77s eating breakfast, as he came over to hug one of them after. Fun day! The best yet for me, considering I finally saw them win for the first time in 10 tries, dating back to '88!!
