Good Parcells Reads (yup, two of 'em!)

Parcells is truly a football god, i have followed and been a huge fan of his since his days with the Giants, even though I hated the Giants. Followed BP to NE, to Jets, to Dallas, and his coming here was like manna from heaven.

We must treasure the man while we have him and look forward to the many years of success he will foster to occur after he leaves. If the Dolphins season ticket sales don't rise dramatically in the next 2 years, this city/area does not deserve this franchise. That is how strongly I feel about what BP will do for this team and what he will leave behind.

Parcells truly breathed new life into a stagnant and struggling franchise. He immediately brought credibility to a front office that seemed to never get it right. Instead of grabbing the first big name coach available at the time he was the one who decided to wait for Sparano. Instead of grabbing one of the available GMs he had the forsight to bring in Ireland who had never been a GM but was a scouting director.
He never tried to pull any punches or sugarcoat the status of the franchise but was blunt and honest about the state of the Dolphins.
Bill Parcells is not the coach or the GM but is a quality control officer overseeing the whole operation.
Wayne talking Parcells into taking the VP position is probably the single best move that the Dolphins organization have made since Don Shula was talked into leaving the Colts for the lowly Dolphins.

 

I was envious of the Pats, Jets and Cowboys for having a smart, disciplined guy like Parcells whose all about football and not much else. Much as I hate those teams. Now we have the Tuna, its kind of like a stab in the back of those Northeastern teams and the whole Northeastern sports establishment up there that Miami can get respect now that "their guy" is down here calling the shots for their hated "Fish".
