Let the chaos begin....

There had better be a trade down from 25...otherwise we will hear the jeers and all those guys at the draft party will come down off their collective buzz in a split second.
-
This is one of the worst mocks ive seen this year, terrible all around.
Will be funny if this actually ends up being one of the better ones after the weekend, but at the moment Id rank it as ****. -
Is this the guy who gets an insane # of picks right every year? I know the guy writes for a Dallas paper... Just don't know if it's him.
^ Agreed. If we pass on RM and let him go to Baltimore... will.be.pissed. -
That being said he didn't do as well as he normally does last year. -
I did the research myself and find this site, http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/solitarykidney/ .
"Some doctors may advise patients with a solitary kidney to avoid contact sports like boxing, football, and hockey. One study indicated that motor vehicle collisions and bike riding accidents were more likely than sports injuries to seriously damage the kidneys. In recent years, athletes with a single working kidney have participated in sports competition at the highest levels. Having a solitary kidney should not automatically disqualify you from sports participation. Children should be encouraged to engage in some form of physical activity, even if contact sports are ruled out. Protective gear such as padded vests worn under a uniform can make limited contact sports like basketball or soccer safe. Doctors, parents, and patients should consider the risks of any activity and decide whether the benefits outweigh those risks."
If he falls just because he have only one kidney and miami grabs him then we are lucky! -
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from Arizona only has 1 kidney too, and it looks like he is doing ok, so I would think that its not a huge deal as long as that 1 you have left works properly. -
that is really the true issue with 1 kidney ... and the reason for the warnings ... if something were to happen to that one -- there isn't another one to rely on. that would mean a huge insurance risk. otherwise, you can live quite comfortably with 1 kidney.

As Tractor Traylor noted, DRC has one kidney and is fine. Kruger has had some off the field issues because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was stabbed and then was hit by a car at the age of thirteen I think. However, he's a very mature person and a very good player in his own right. He does a good job of setting the edge and has a very good closing burst to the QB. Personally, I like him a lot. I like him more than Connor Barwin but some people will kill me for saying that.

alen everything that I've read projects Kruger as a 3rd or 4th rd pick. Has something changed to increase his value?

What some don't like about him is that he's older than your typical draft prospect in this class because he was on a mormon mission. Also, he's had a few injury issues that I noted earlier and finally, level of competition is a bit of a question mark as well as his tackling. He can get a bit sloppy out there as he won't wrap up at all times, therefore whiffing on the play. However, that's something that can be corrected and if he was to get picked by this regime, he would fit in with what they want. Not to mention, they could probably add a few more pounds of muscle in his upper body, making him stronger when setting the edge.
I think the reason you see him going this high and people not dismissing the possibility is because of Parcells track record. I believe Parcells usually takes players earlier than they should because he doesn't want to risk not having the player available for his next pick. He goes the safe route and many have followed his philosophy, including Bill Belichick, who gets heat from draftniks across the nation for taking so and so too early. However, Bill Belichick gets the last laugh often amount of times, as many of us know.MrClean likes this. -

Personally, those are all just numbers as far as I'm concerned, nothing more. If he could come in here and play the run almost as well as Roth, but play the pass better than I'm all for bringing him on board whenever.
The age thing is nothing to be concerned about IMO. It's not as if he's a 32 year old grad. -
Agree with you on the age factor.late again likes this. -
I think one of the gurus on this site predicted we would take Kruger with our first pick as well. CK maybe? I honestly don't know much about him but he's a position of need and I'm more than willing to trust the front office.

I wouldn't like that very much. Way too much of a reach.
