It's really tough to for coaches and players; and even more so the dynamic between HC and QB. Coaches coach and do what they think is right for the team and the player. Doesn't mean they're always right, but the player's best interest is in mind because, ultimately, if the player succeeds (esp. QBs), the team wins, and the coach wins.

Chad Henne was given Brandon Marshall, and had a running back (when healthy), who was the envy of most teams.

Tannehill essentially had an extra couple of years of college when his college HC became the OC (who helped Tannehill become the #8 overall pick). Wallace was signed. Albert signed.

Head coaching is not unlike parenting. You do what you can and hope for the best. Sometimes, the kid exceeds expectations. Other times, those expectations aren't met.

Tom Brady is an excellent example of one taking full advantage of a situation. Other guys are given the keys to the car and don't take care of the car.

Brady took care of the car, got a summer job at the Ugg Outlet store, traded in that car for a better one with the money he had saved, paid his own way through school, got his high school sweetheart pregnant, only to cheat on her with someone else while she was pregnant, and so on....

Pieces are put in place for some of these QBs to succeed. The salary cap prevents All-World players filling in the entire roster. Some players succeed with much less, some fail with more. Coaching only goes so far. Sometimes, the player just needs to appreciate what he has, strap on his Uggs, and take the old beater for a spin. He might just be able to get a hot girl pregnant!

I think Jennings should play TE or retire. You dropped more passes than Ted Ginn and you want to bag on your QB?

All he said that he doesn't know what Tannehill could do because he's being handcuffed. He said Tannehill is not elite. He never he'll never be.

Thanks but he was absolutely bagging on his QB. I agree that was not his intent or the words he used. But in the instant info age perception becomes reality quickly. Within seconds. Headline reads Jennings says Tannehill is not elite! He's been babied! All that follows is tainted by that perception.

    No. No. No.

Perception doesn't become reality. A given perception becomes more prevalent, but it does not become reality.

The truth is always the truth regardless of how many people believe it.

Just because PFT spun that story as Jennings was bagging on Thill doesn't mean that's what actually happened. If people believe otherwise, they are welcome to do so because its a free country, but they are factually wrong.

We're going to find out soon whether he can handle it. I like Gase is going to make the team earn it.

Gase also made a very important point on the calls at the LOS - that the entire offense has to understand the calls or it's a fail.

So, you mean that not being allowed to audible doesn't mean it was the QB who couldn't handle it? So when coaches said audibling affected Tannehill's rhythm, it's conceivable that the drop in rhythm was because the other offensive players didn't know the offense good enough?

    Exactly!!

Just another thing that had nothing to do with Tannehill.

The coaches that have already coached Tannehill, identified it was Tannehill the audibling was affecting. The coach that hasn't yet coached anyone on this team, says he's going to see and he isn't handing out audibling like it's candy on Halloween.
