100% believe this is because of Miko the mouth.. He was unable to contain her and has caused her husband to lose some money.

 

Well, hate to see this. He was absolutely one of the top CBs in the game just two years ago and even last year he utilized his athleticism to make up for a loss in top end speed. But yeah, I think I read he had about a 9.4 Mil salary this year (including pro-rated bonus), and he isn't playing at that level. He either wouldn't or couldn't control his wife's mouth, either.

 

and he is replaced by who???

This is the opposite of how JJ would do the roster. He would get rid of the worst CB on the team if he brought in another CB, not the best one we had. Maybe that's why his teams were always in the playoffs.

Agreed about his play.

He played OK on his man, but he really made no effort to help out anywhere else on the field. It seemed to me that he was really leaning on his reputation last year.

I don't think Ive ever heard of a situation where you cut a guy because of his wife but it is what it is, the guy can't take care of the distraction that his wife is and its going to cost him. The crap his wife does on social media is unacceptable, you have to get rid of him. Sorry but I just can't respect Grimes, if my wife was causing distractions at MY job I'd handle it, let alone a job where I make 7 figures and are in the media 24/7. Grimes is an idiot.

 

NFL teams are extremely adverse to players that come with a circus sideshow these days. Wouldn't surprise me if Grimes has a difficult time catching on somewhere else. I'm sure he will land on a team, but my bet is not for the money he deserves for a player of his caliber (even with age and off year) and Miko will be the reason.

 

I hope the Pats sign him... I would love her to be a giant distraction.....

May not have been great last season but he was still the best Cornerback on the team. And he had a better year than Byron Maxwell. We'll see what else they do to try and fix the secondary.
