According to this article - http://search.yahoo.com/search?cs=bz&p=Jon Gruden Raiders&fr=fp-tts-701&fr2=ps Interesting that Gruden had no interest in coaching for the Miami Dolphins but would entertain the notion of coaching for the Raiders. Maybe because of the history but still...
I could see Gruden entertaining the thought of going back to the Raiders, but i don't see him leaving a cushy TV job to go back to a team that is going through such a rebuilding phase as they have this past year. If he comes back, I would expect it to be with a team that would have a chance to contend in 1-2 years. No way is that happening with the Raiders.
I disagree. Gruden wants to change the NFL and is enamored with college spread and option concepts. He can't do that if he takes over an established team with a group of talent that is suited for one style of play. He needs to rebuild from the bottom up if my guess is correct. What better place than Oakland?
Exactly. During every broadcast Gruden marvels anytime someone does something unique or different particularly anything from a spread or pistol formation.
LOL, I don't think marvels is the right term. He gets all giddy and excited. I also remember from another thread that he wanted to spend time with Oregon and Chip Kelly to learn more. He is serious about being an early adopter to a changing NFL.
really? Gruden would talk to an organization with a coach that is still coaching and not been fired yet?
