If they don't take out all of the tedious relationship maintaining and things like that I might end up skipping this one. I enjoyed a lot of things about GTA IV but constantly having to stop what I was doing to hang out with buddies and women wasn't one of them. I'm probably in the minority though so I doubt they'll change any of that.
You could turn that off in the cell phone menu. Problem was, it would turn back on after you finished a mission.
As long as I can **** hookers, kill em with a bat and get my money back AND THEN SOME....steal cars, beat up random people, get chased by cops, parachute out of planes and rob banks.....I will gladly....GLADLY buy this for $60 Also, thank god it comes out next year, I will be using some vacation time after the release to have some all day game-a-thons.
It's just a matter of opinion I guess, I don't play video games looking for them to be like real life.
Keep in mind that some of the biggest complaints in general from GTA4 was the irritating relationship system they came up with. Rather than the ever constant annoyance they devised, they could have simply had a requirement to "hang out" , or better yet they could have created more direct, unique experiences with them and after so many of those missions they could be completed for good. The system they implemented only served to make you bored, if not because of meaningless mini games, then through tedium in the long run. I would be shocked if they scrapped the relationship stuff altogether, but they must have changed it from GTA4...I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt there lol
This month's Game Informer has a 23 page(!) article on GTA5. Here are the screenshots straight off my iPad version for your enjoyment. You'll have to rotate the pictures yourself though, because, well, I'm too lazy to do it and it's free.
I read the entire thing. Switching between 3 protagonists sounds ****ing cool. The map is bigger than SA, GTA4 and RDR....combined!!! Holy **** guys this is going to be awesome!!!
It goes without saying of course I'll buy this game and probably love it. But agree with everyone else about the relationship stuff. Rockstar games needs to find a happy medium with this stuff. Figure out a way to not make gamers feel guilty about skipping it if they don't feel like doing it. Also, side games and mini games are great. But let people do them at their leisure and don't disrupt the flow of the game with it. Looking in Red Dead Redemption's direction on this one.
According to the article they will have some random spur of the moment side stuff like RDR.....you see a car on the side of the road with a guy waving you down.....you can stop help, get robbed....or shoot the guy....or hit the guy....or drive passed the guy flipping him the bird. Also, i guess you can make gestures to people (flipping the bird etc) and the people will react differently based on their personality.....if it's a soccer mom...she will probably call you disgusting and run. if its a group of thugs they will probably shoot or chase you. Going to be fun. I can't effing wait.
So gamestop says releasing dec 31st....but I have heard 2nd quarter of 2013. can anyone confirm the release of this game?
Gamestop's release date is a placeholder. The game was already confirmed to be coming out in Spring 2013, which is indeed Q2 2013.
So will that change as it gets closer? I don't want them charging my card 3 months before it even comes out...
They aren't going to charge your card on Dec 31. When Rockstar announces a specific date, Gamestop will update their listing.
From my experience with pre-ordering games (albeit not Gamestop), your card is charged when the game is shipped.
Vice City is being released on the 6th on Android devices. Still the best GTA ever in my opinion.
Agreed. You have to think Vice City would be up next after V, but I think they're including in V most of what would have been in a Vice City update anyway.
Vice City would be fun, but why not something new too? Maybe Europe and do a French Connection thing?
Not relatable to the core audience or as more obviously spoofed. GTA is about making fun of perceived American excesses.
Vice City was definitely my favorite as well. I'm still amazed at how far the franchise has come since the original GTA.
