Here is a nice benchmark vid of the new card. I still have a SINGLE 560ti and am thinking about getting this. My question is, do you guys think the first gens are pretty maxxed out, or should I wait for a 780 FTW, Superclocked, or Classified - EVGA all the way, so that is why the specific model names. I am mainly wondering if the 3GB will be updated to maybe 4GB, or even 6GB. These are the guys that fabbed my cpu btw. NCIX. Great company in Canada. Linus is based out of BC, but NCIX Toronto made my rig.
Don't expect additional VRAM on a 700 series GPU. 3 GB is all you'll get unless you buy a GTX Titan. I bought an Asus GTX 780 and am very happy with it.
Yeah, the Titan has 6Gb. Thing is, when you SLI or XFire, you don't get the combined amount of VRAM. Only the amount of the one card. So if I SLI'd two 780s, I would only have 3GB VRAM, compared to a Titan with 6GB. But, two 780s will surely beat a Titan anyway. That's why I was hoping for a model with more VRAM. But thanks for the info Des.
A slightly OCed 780 beats a Titan. 3 GB VRAM is plenty at 1080p. More is desirable only if you play at 2560x1600, in which case you're using SLI anyway.
Love NCIX. I used to live by their Burnaby store when I moved there in 99. They were literally in a 'corner store' space at the time. Amazing how far they've come since. I still buy from them especially now that they are in the T.O. area.
GTX 770 is available today. For $400 you basically get a slightly faster GTX 680. Good deal for the price. But I'm happy with my 780.
Van, you in Toronto area? NCIX aren't in Toronto, but they are in Mississauga. Same thing really if you are from out of town, so I just said Toronto so ppl can relate.
Cool man. My mom grew up in Hamilton. Grandfather was a steel worker all his life. I still have uncles and cousins up there on the mountain by Mohawk area generally. Like the city, hate all the one ways.
