Just curious as to who is going to play it. With the multi-guild function it would be pretty nice to get folks on the same server for the World vs World vs World pvp.

I will be! I cannot wait for GW 2. I logged in well over 1000 hours in the original GW and loved everything about it. Then I got a mac laptop and it just rain miserably on bootcamp. Getting a new Windows PC and will be getting this when it comes out. Any word on the release date?

"When it's done". Is the official line. Considering they have promised 3 beta weekend events and it's been over a month since the last one. I'd say a while. Maybe Sept at the earliest.

Ironically I wasn't a fan of the original guild wars. Tried checking it out recently and the graphics have aged terribly that I couldn't really take it seriously.

Heh- I remember getting it on release day. I loved the PvP aspects, the many different kinds kept it fresh. I also like how you could play the game with other people or alone. A great balance IMO. I think you'll enjoy the game if it is anything like the original.

Very excited for this. Can't stand MMORPG's, but Guild Wars is different. I like the heavier approach on PVP, and less grinding than most other MMOs.

I'm praying this will run on a new 13 inch macbook pro with windows installed on it. I need a new laptop for school but want to be able to play this when it comes out.

Oh man Guild Wars 2 is a blast. Played a couple hours of WvWvW. We managed to take over the entire map. Was hella fun.

It was fun but there is obviously still quite a bit of work to do. WvWvW still has a LOT of polishing to be done. Same with sPvP. They are still making wholesale changes on the fly when it comes to traits etc. So I doubt we will see it live until November or so.

Gah. I am so tempted to pick this up this week. I hope it will run on a laptop with a 2nd gen i5 processor and integrated graphics. I really should wait until October to get it but it is just SO TEMPTING.

I don't doubt it. I played the other one thousands of hours haha. I just need to focus on preparing for the LSAT until the beginning of october. Hoping I can hold out until then, and then reward myself with GW2.
How is the PvP? -
I haven't got that far yet. I work and can't junk out on it yet. From what I hear that's the main focus and apparently awesome.

Yup having a blast. Put in 30 hours on the weekend. We got matched vs the powerhouse Shiverpeaks...that was brutal. However when i left for work our next match was vs Rall and someone else and we were roughly 4k out in front.
I joined the 1200 member Synergy Alliance on Crystal Desert. It's an odd but loyal community. The Aussie's/Brazillians/North Americans with us in Synergy. Then it's also got a couple large Reddit guilds and it's the unofficial LGBT server. -
Didn't realize you have to choose servers in the new one. Is it per character or account?

Keg Brawl is my favorite so far. So much fun! The first time I came across it, while I was just exploring Hoelbrak, I was like "hmmm... what's this? Should I try it? Meh, why not!" The next 4 hours of my day were lost... I couldn't stop myself from playing.
I am a casual gamer, I don't have a whole lot of time to play. Just to give you an idea: I have 5 characters (alt aholic; always have been) at levels 17(Warrior), 16(Thief), 14(Ranger), 12(Mesmer) and 8(Elementalist). And I have played since launch. :lol: -
Dang I just got it last Thursday and I am up to lvl 26 right now (ele). This game is like crack, but I'm not sure I like it better than the original quite yet. Still a ton of fun... love how they added in the vistas and what not. I'm addicted to 100% map completion.

Haven't updated this in a while. In November I moved to Sea of Sorrows and joined The Industry [Work] Guild. We moved SoS to be the #1 WvW server for quite a while now...Yay us!
I now have an 80 Ranger, 80 Thief and 80 Warrior and still got that 30 Guardian sitting there.
Still having a blast. Will probably play this till Elder Scrolls Online. -
I gave up on GW2 since I'm really not a pvper & prefer PVE more.. Looking for a group to do instances was a pain. If they had a dungeon finder like WoW's, I would of stayed. Gotta love being able to do dailys while waiting for an instance group & not being stuck in LA while trying to find said group.
Plus. I went back to WoW cus all of my guildmates from WoW that played GW2 went back to WoW.

People either joined large PvE guilds for that or used http://gw2lfg.com/ which worked very well. Would have to cut off my nuts for me to go back to WoW ;p

I play this game on a regular basis too on the Maguuma server. It is quite fun- but still doesn't hold a candle to the original GW in my opinion.
