Nice to hear other players having such positive things to say about Hagan. Maybe he will have a strong year this year. All reports we've been reading seem to indicate he's definately improved, and playing like a different guy this year.

I wonder which way his confidence goes when Glenn is brought in and he's moved to the fourth receiver. I really like him and always have but he worries me. He doesn't seem comfortable on the field in third down situations. I know this camp he has been impressive but he's been impressive before and failed to perform on Sundays. I hope its different this time around.

To be fair, for all we know, it could be Wilford moved to third.

If he is moved to third and Glenn is second, Hagan still ends up as the fourth.

Judging by some of the media reports out of camps, it could be wilford that drops to 4th, hagan at third. I dont know whats up with Wilford, but it doesnt sound good. Afterall, this is about using the players who give you the best chance to win, if Hagan is performing, and wilford isnt... well guess what... Sorry Wilford. you gotta earn it bud.

Yeah but the difference between Wilford and Hagan is that Wilford is playing against Will Allen whose a good corner. Also, Wilford isn't the fastest man out there (ran a 4.79 coming into the league).

I believe Hagan was matched up against Goodman. Goodmans a pretty good corner as well but not better than Allen. Hagan is also faster than Wilford.

So Wilford is downgraded to fourth and Hagan is third?

If so, that would be a positive for Hagan. I still don't know if that would happen though. We spent money on Wilford this past off-season.

I am glad to hear about Derek Hagan. I really hope he does well this year. It is his time to step up. But it kind of seems like we hear this every year about him.

I like Hagan, but he has been dropping passes since he got here. I am taking a wait and see approach to Hagan.

at first glance this is good news.... but the news is relative given how bad the rest of our WR corps is and how bad (overall) our secondary is.

i read this with tempered enthusiasm. ;)

and if Wilford continues to be invisible, he'll be lucky to even have a roster spot. seriously, we're hearing good things about Foster & Bess everyday. when's the last time you heard something good about Wilford?

seriously, i haven't heard a SINGLE good thing about Wilford since we brought him here. i'm not big on that....

Yeah, Wilford has disappeared in training camp. I really thought him coming here would be good for him and us, but if he can't step up and produce, let some one in there that can. Always have liked Hagan lets hope he continues to improve..

I believe he beat one of the DB's on a seam route for a TD few days ago. Other than that, I agree that he hasn't been to impressive. He's probably still adjusting to this team which could be the reason for his struggles. I'm not too worried about him.

From the link given to us by FreeStyle:

I thought Matt Roth was impressive? How he was holding the job down for the starting spot? I like Langford a lot though. I wouldn't be surprised to see him win the starting job as he has improved the most since off-season program.

I find it really interesting that Murphy was considered the more likely to win this job prior to TC and when he was drafted. Thomas was known for being raw, inexperienced and some thought, including me, that he would be on the PS. I figured he would develop on the PS. Now, you look at them and Thomas is the one winning the job and Murphy possibly on the PS.

Very disappointing to hear about Wilford I know Camarillo was playing the slot with the first team offense at today's practice.

So right now the receivers in order look like this:

    Ginn
    Hagan
    Camrillo
    Wilford
    Bess?

Yea bro it is a little dissapointing. I cant believe that Ernest Wilford is being this big of a dissapointment. I really hope he can rebound which I think he will. But I would not mind at all with all Derek Hagans improvements to have him as our second wide reciver.

Yea and it is really to bad about Ernest Wilford. But you know look at the positives Derek Hagan is stepping up and so is Camarilo.

Camarillo ahead of Wilford? Has he been demoted to fourth?

I hope yyou are right bro. For Ernest Wilford not to step up would be a big dissapointment. He is in a new place so it might take him a little longer to get the system down and get use to his enviorment. I say if he is not improving by the end of the frist preseason game we should be a little worried.

I'm sure for today's practice he was not a top 3 receiver with the first team. So he has to be fourth unless they dropped him further then that.

Yeah, I recall reading that. But didn't he also spend some time on the sideline or am I mixing him up with someone else?

Just because hes on the sideline doesnt mean its because hes plummeting on the depth chart. Theres a good chance we're giving more time to the guys who are trying to make the team and sitting out the others who already are virtual locks.

Again, preseason games and conferences will help clear up a lot of this.

I think it was someone else, I'm sure Wilford practiced like he would any other day.

Yeah he was with the second team and didn't see anything about him spending time on the sideline.

I know that it doesn't mean that. I agree with you. Where did I say that he plummeted on the depth chart because of that? Only statement I made about him on the depth chart was when I said that "I'm not worried. I think he'll end up with the first team." Then, I just questioned what he was doing on the field.

Damn, not good. Sorry for all the confusion.

Yeah not a good sign but I'm sure by the time opening weekend gets here he will be in the opening lineup but its great to see Camarillo and Hagan playing extremely well this TC.

Yeah, I still think he ends up with the first string though. I've liked Camarillo for a while (even before the TD catch). Camarillo has good hands and is a good route runner, also has good speed imo. I hope Hagan can keep this up in the regular season. If he does, it would be huge for us.

I was happy to see Hagan drafted because I heard a lot of good things about him and thought he could be a steal in the 4th round, it would be great if he can live up to his potential this season.

Camarillo got my attention after the TD I didn't know a thing about him before that play but he made a few nice plays in the remaining games. The TD catch against NE sticks out in my mind and sounds like he has continued his solid play into TC.

Yea same here. I have always followed him when he came here. I thought maybe he would be the next Wes Welker for us. If he keeps it up in trianing cam and he transfer the stuff over into the regular season he should be a good talent for us this season. Same with Derek Hagan it is good to see them both doing good things and I hope they can both carry it over to the regular season. Maybe the playoffs. ( Not really. But I can dream cant I.)

I'm going to have to avoid the internet, any sports network, the news, the radio and the newspaper for the night of the 9th and until 4 PM the next day when the game is shown on NFLN. I don't want to know who wins or what players stand out before hand, want the game to be fresh.

I loved that route vs Hobbs that he ran. An in and out route. It was beautiful.

I think Derek Hagan broke his confrence record in recetions when he was in college and some other stuff. So yea if he can live up to his potecial he should be a steal and a really good player in this league.
