I cannot wait for this movie, anyone going that night? I have my thoughts about what will happen.....I didnt read the books yet, so I am not sure if I am right or not. But ill find out soon enough.

The first 2 movies were slow....but man it got dark quick, and I am HOOKED! Cannot wait to get to Wizardy World at Universal soon.... -
I have yet to see the most recent movie. Gotta get on that.
And when I do see it, I'll be there for the premier.
See if you can spot me there.

hp is cutesy even if it is somewhat dark. Having said that I quite enjoy the movies.

The movies are entertaining and fun.
What gets me is the dumbing down of our culture, that adults are reading these books and acting like they read Beowulf.
They're books meant for children, folks; young adults at best. Get cracking on something meant for people your age.
It is heartening that lots of children who otherwise might have gone their entire childhoods without reading anything not assigned for school are reading at all, and might just become lifelong readers because of it.
But if you're an adult and your exposure to literature the past few years has been limited to this and the Sookie Stackhouse books—take stock, for God's sake. Challenge yourself.Vengeful Odin, TiP54, Fin D and 1 other person like this. -
I think, instead of trying to decipher between if this book/movie is for kids or adults....we should just look at it with no bias, for what it is, and what it is, is fantastic cinematography and a fun time watching the movie. -

Eh the books are overrated and read like the goosbumps series. I've never understood the love affair people have with them.
-
The HP Books like many other examples thoughout history are far better and have more depth of character, more storyline, than the movie versions - certainly that's to be expected based on Novels vs Screenplays and movie time, etc. Now, the HP Movies are entertaining in their own right.
Personally, loved reading them with both my daughters and discussing them and watching the movies too and comparing to the books. Great family bonding.
Also, just did Universal this past vacation and frankly they nailed HP world, what a blast. Amazing detail and enjoyment. Butterbeer @ the 3 broomsticks for the win!
Sick, after you go, want you to tell me your thoughts of the Hippogriff's ride....you need to build up the anticipation and then tell me your thoughts after the experience is over. Too funny!
The dueling dragons ride, and the HP world Hogwarts ride are over the top cool. -
Another thing about the books (in most book-to-movie adaptations). The musical score. So much better and it's not even close.

Books are definitely better than the movies, they hold more secrets than the movies could ever reveal. And, i like adult books just as much as the next person, but the HP series is like brain candy, its makes you happy and they are smooth and easy.

I can't wait for the final movie. I'll be going to Universal with my son the week before the movie comes out.
I loved the books. IMO that series is among the best book series ever. I think people see them as kid's book but the underlying themes are universal and timeless and the subtlety and depth is impressive. I actually enjoyed them much more than the LOTR series, which IMO is the best movie trilogy ever. -

OMG the ride at universal is special...the wait for the ride is very well themed...the epic fail is the fact that you have to get a locker before going on the ride because you cant have any bags at all. The lockers are not placed well (claustraphobia city), they are fingerprint reliant, so if the machine doesnt recognize your fingerprint, you cant get your bag back until a helper comes over, and there arent enough....The whole diagon alley/hp experience is awesome, but in my opinion they scaled it to small....

Love the Potter books. Read them multiple times.
Excited enough about the final movie that I will be willing to drive a hour plus to actually see it in IMAX.
If ya like Potter try out the "Hunger Games" series. Kind of reads the same way, but it isn't near the "experience" Potter is. Comes with the JimToss stamp of approval.
Which means if you don't like it..
then go **** yourself.unluckyluciano and SICK like this. -
Who is going Friday?! I got IMAX 3D tickets, 10:05......so excited!!!! Watched all the movies this past week to catch up/refresh....I can't wait for this.
Frosting on the cake? Mom is watching the rugrats, so afterwards we can get drunk, go to waffle house, and sleep in Saturday!
BEST.WEEKEND.EVER.
