According to Omar Kelly: It appears rookie WR Brian Hartline and Greg Camarillo have indeed switched spots on the depth chart, with Hartline the No. 3 receiver. Hmmmmmmm.
really? somehow, I find that move a bit speculative. did this come officially from Sparano? or did Omar just make it up? I say: let them compete & the best man will win. I just don't trust Omar. if it's true, you'll see Camariilo traded out for a draft choice before the end of preseason.
doesn't really matter with this team. We're such a power football team now that most of the time we're running two te formations with only one wr on the field. and its usually bess from what i saw.
I could see it being possible. Camarillo could be slow recovering from that injury, and its sounded like Hartline has been doing well. Hopefully we hear something from Sparano soon to confirm or deny.
got a point & to add to it we have a full house @ WR & counting if we decide to make a cut sooner is better thatn later @ this stage of the game they know the inside story on every player. if Camarillo has lost ground to Hartline, I'm sure he'll be traded out to make room for another up & coming prospect however will only believe it when Sparano says its true
Iam continually suprised at the lack of respect that Cam gets by some.....i would bet money that Tony asked Cam personally whether or not his knee was ready to go 100 percent, and if the answer to that question was no, then you slide him on the depth chart til it is. Then when it is, you bring him back up. He aint goin nowhere imo, to good a player, to smart a player, to tough a player.
Sadly I believe he will get the axe or traded. He is a good possession guy but so is Bess and Bess is alot quicker.
I think he sticks. I think we keep him and depth at WR becomes a strength. I would hope that the days of Kerry Reed, Derek Hagan, Cliff Russell, etc as depth are over for good.
i don't know why you would get rid of a possession guy just to get another possession guy............. why not just have two possession guys. If he's sliding its gotta be his knee IMO.
Pardon my ignorance here, but what happened to Turner? Where does he fit in? Is Hartline passing Cammy for the slot receiver position? With his size, seems maybe we should have Turner as the #2 and Bess as the slot guy. JMHO.
underestimation of the player imo..your selling him short by saying that bess is quicker, Cam is a very deceptive receiver who has exceptional feet, hands and brain. The axe? ...now way imo..
I could see something like Turner and Camarillo to Denver for B Marshall. Not that I want that to happen or that I even like Marshall. Just something that I could see being pulled off.
I can't imagine the Broncos doing that. Camarillo is a solid wr coming off knee surgery and Turner is an unproven wr that was taken in the third round. Marshall may be a huge headcase but he is way more talented than both of them combined. Plus I doubt Parcells would want another TO type player on his team.
I don't see how that's a bad thing. At all. I'd rather keep Camarillo on this roster than Brandon London, who some have said they want on this roster. As DJ said, I think Camarillo is very underrated, even by our fan base. I also think this depth chart movement has to do more with rep count than actual performance. It also could be injury, as I think Unlucky stated.
It has to be injury related. Camarillo was on pace for 80+ catches last season, and a good chunk of yards. We cannot cut a proven player like him. Slide him down the depth chart, then when he is ready, put him where he belongs.
Yes. On 11/19/2008, he signed a 3yr/5.7mill dollar deal. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_contract.aspx?sport=nfl&id=3871 A really great contract for a player of his production.
I gotta agree. If it comes down to London and Camarillo, I'm hoping they keep Camarillo. Special Teams or not, Camarillo has proven that he can produce at WR. London has not.
Sparano said in his press conferences that the depth chart doesn't matter right now and that it would only be meaningful in Atlanta, week 1. Where was Green on the depth chart last week? I honestly don't know. Not trying to be a smart butt. I wouldn't read to much into this. I think Cam would be a great 3 down receiver. He is smart and can find those holes in the defense. Ricky Phroele (sp?) made a long career out of being a 3rd down WR. I think Cam has a chance to do the same thing. If Cam isn't our 3rd WR who would it be? EDIT: ^^ heartline would be our 3rd. My brain isn't functioning
I think it has alot to to do with his injury, he barely played on Monday afterall. as for getting cut or traded, dont count on it.
not even a blip on the radar imo. actually that one is not even in space to provide a blip. Cammrillo will make this team, and about a month ago here was my and others list..Ginn..Cam...Bess..Turner...hartline.. Being a club member, we get some inside info that confirms our theories...membership has its privalages, ya'll should try it, its the best 24 bucks i spend every year..by far.
I disagree about it being a sure thing that Camarillo makes the team. CKParrothead convinced me with his amazing analysis of how well Bess did when he came in for Camarillo. Bess does everything Camarillo does, however Bess does everything better. I do agree with being a club member. It is fun and helps this amazing site
