http://http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Say what you want to say about PFT, but to me they are a very credible site. Now these are only rumors, but usually when something is said there is somethng behind it. So stay tuned DOlfans
what about the precious year spent installing the offense with players that won't be around god willing? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're credible when it comes to legal issues relating to NFL players (Vick, etc...) but when it comes to personnel and front office stuff, they typically just throw stuff out and hope that it sticks or simply ride on the coattails of other journalists.
.... I really don't see the connection between new GM and coach firing. Quite frankly, wouldn't it make a whole lot more sense to actually wait for a viable head coach before firing our current one?
Yea but 95+% of the issues this team has had occured before the arrival of Cam . . . . that is like saying if we go 1-15 next year, that Bill Parcells needs to be fired because we need to clean house . . . u can't really hold him responsible for ALL of the turmoil this team has gone thru. Now I don't care if he is gone . . . but really the house "cleaning" needed to be with ALL the people responsible for players, scouting, training and medical staff. Also a very precise EVALUATION needs to be done on the coaches . . . and this includes Cam, Capers, Mularkey, Armstrong and everybody else . . . and definitely some changes NEED to be made with them as well.
Maybe, but they really don't have to . . . not now atleast . . . they have some time before a decision needs to be made.
Many feel like he lost the locker room with the Culpepper - T.Green circus/fiasco/blatant lie That's right blatant lie... about competition for Starting QB...
True, but I don't think much of Cam's game management.. Remember if Brian Billick doesn't go stupid ,we don't even have one win.
i was just watching the hot list and they said there was a head coach vacancy in baltimore and miami. i doubt it though
I agree it is unreasonable to blame cam for most of went wrong with this team. the big tuna whould not have a record better than 3/13.
On a local sports radio show here in N.Y. the discussion was whether Cameron would be back to coach the Dolphins. For those of you who are not familiar with the radio show let me say this, one of the hosts, Mike Francessa, is extremely close with Parcells. He stated that he and BP spoke at length recently regarding Cams future with the dolphins. Parcells told Mike that he must consider the fact that the dismal season wasnt all Cams fault. He also said he intends to sit and talk with Cameron and ask him a series of questions. If and only if Cameron answers the questions to Parcells liking he will consider keeping him. If not,Cams gone. Now,I have no idea what the questions are,but if Cam plans on staying he better come clean and answer truthfully(I.E. he made many rookie HC mistakes, and the team played horrible). If he tries to sell the fact that he made strides this year and this team is close to being competitive and doesnt need much help, well, he`s a goner. Parcells plans on asking some tricky questions. Cams future with the Dolphins lies solely on his answers.
This is the reson why cam shouldn't be fired comes from the tuna himself. Bill Parcells “This is basically a talent-acquisition business. In addition to acquiring the talent, you have to have a structure in place within your organization that will enhance the development of that talent. Then you have to have a confident coaching staff that will coach that talent. I think if you can get those three things in place – solid personnel acquisition, good development and good coaching – I think you can make progress in this league. Not everyone has that.” Cam is only responsible for the coaching not for acquiring the talent. what did Assistant Director of Player Personnel Mike Baugh do what was his job? How much is the GM involved in player development?
The owner of the team said if he didn't sell the dolphins he was going to blow it up.So Cam should of pack his bags weeks ago.
Anyway, I never liked the hiring of Cam. I wanted Tomlin, Garrett, Gailey, or Singletary. I doubt we'll get any of them now, but at least the coaching free agent market is a ton better than what it was last year.
Somebody please... show me some evidence Cam got better at anything as the season wore on... game management... player relations.... talent evaluations... anything.... !!!! He coached a team that he thought was going to the playoff's to 1 win... and that was luck.... c'mon... get over it... Cams done... and there's every reason to support that decision.. imo
He did. Back on the old Finheaven I tried to reiterate that to some but they wouldn't listen. Rumor has it that many veterans were prepared to speak up for Culpepper had they gone to arbitration. Funny how he got cut right before they reached that point. I also strongly believe his handling of the Keith Traylor situation has or will turn off a lot of veterans on the team. I also read that guys like Joey Porter don't respect him. After the Pittsburgh game he requested to stay in Pittsburgh for a night, Cameron declined and he stayed anyways and drew JUST a fine when he returned to the team. That's blatant disrespect and disregard for authority and they players just don't seem to give a rip. I bet he's one of the players that openly cursed him during team meetings (that PFT reported from I believe Jay Glazer).
Cam was on the record saying he thought this was a playoff team on talent alone... another botch job decision on his part...
I was watching NFL Network about a half hour ago and Adam Schefter was on. He talked about the Dolphins hiring Ireland and how many in the league looked at this hiring as just a formality when Parcells took the job. He said that there has been no word yet on Cameron, and the longer there is no news, the safer Cameron is.
If Parcells can take the time and stomach sitting through all the games this year, he will probably fire Cam on the spot. Then again, if Cam didn't coach so badly and mishandle so many situations then Parcells doesn't have a job with the Dolphins. ie, kickback.
Well, I'm not completely on board with the bringing Parcells in, but I do give Bill credit for one thing. He's a lot smarter about these issues than the fans are. Bill is smart enough to know that there wasn't much Cam could do to change things this year, and that this year was something that was inevitable due to the poor personnel decisions this team has made in the past. Basically, if you fire Cam Cameron, you are making Cam Cameron pay for the failures of Dave Wannstedt. Dave Wannstedt is 95% responsible for this mess, and he will never hold the accountability he should hold for the Dolphins being in their current shape. If Cam Cameron gets fired from Miami, it will be because he couldn't overcome the poor personnel that was in place due to Dave's poor draft and free agent decisions. Do you really not think things would have been different if Cam had inherited a team that had Drew Brees (who Cam developed by the way) at quarterback, Anquan Boldin and Chris Chambers at wide receiver, Donald Lee at tight end (one of Dave's few good draft picks), Ronnie Brown at tailback, and better offensive line personnel? If Cam had inherited that, chances are, Miami could have focused their draft picks on getting younger defenders like Patrick Willis, Amobi Okoye, or Adam Carriker.
