Well now, 5 games to go and out comes the WildThig package, basically the Pistol Offense dressed up a bit, hopefully the work on the option toss has been done, but if the D blitzes Thiggy can hit the open man and read the field before doing so.

    All hands on deck!

If it works, great. I just don't want to see it used if Henne is in a groove. Up until the last game the Wildcat has been pretty much a certain drive killer.

The timing has to be right....really. If Henne is moving it up and down the field...I think the QB's mojo is more important....but it can be deadly when used correctly....

I would also not really hesitate to put both Henne and Thigpen on the field together...imagine what you could do with that one...

Right and last weeks Wildthig was a bust, Henne was on a roll and they take him out of the game.

We had a better chance on the 3rd and 12 with Henne passing.

    Chad Henne on 3rd downs

    93.2 rating 63-101 749 yards 5 TD's 2 Ints

Chad Henne on 3rd and over 11

    83.7 rating 11-17 113 yards 0 tds 0 ints 0 sacks 0 fumbles

Having Henne passing on third and long was the best option.

    Recycling stats?

Gained positive yards, moved the offense closer to the FG that clinched the game, console oneself with stat monkery if you prefer.

    Dude, he gained 8yds.

Then, when they tried it again:
When the Dolphins got the ball back, still up by nine, Thigpen came back out for a drive that opened at the Raiders’ 30, thanks to Davone Bess’ 47-yard punt return.
He handed to Ronnie Brown for a gain of 2 on first down, then ran the option right and pitched to Ricky Williams for a 3-yard loss.

    The "Wildthig" gained 5yds on 3 attempts. I don't think it's "arrived".

as i said last week, the wildthig or whatever you call it was trotted out not to gain yards as much as it was to see how a defense would react to it. if we decide to use it this week we will actually look to gain yards for the first time with it. look at last week as a spy mission. we got some information and now we can utilize it in our next battle

On a Qb draw which is pretty good really.

Two option attempts not draws and not passes out of the formation.

We will be seeing the ThigCat some more...sweet.

Can miami just line up in the base offense and let Henne throw....sprinkle a shotgun and a no huddle offense in there as well...enough of this stupid crap.....I am fully in belief that Henne can operate out of the shotgun, and Henning wont let him...

    He's better under center though.

3 WR set with Bess on the outside and Marshall in the slot, Fasano at TE and Ronnie Brown in the backfield is the strongest formation Miami has.

Again, the proof is in the pudding with Henne, he is good on 3rd and long. people can whine about stat monkey (which I didn't use), but you go on past performance in a situation, all coaches worth a dime do it.

It was a dumb move. And what happened in the game while using it proves it.

There was no good reason to take Henne out on 3rd and long and run that. You want to use the pistol, do it on first down.

I tried to watch it but got lost when old man Henning started babbling about teams throwing the ball too much

If you really look at it, Chad Henne is a very good 3rd down QB.
