HBO’s RealSports looks at fan behavior at Land Shark Stadium by Post Staff A segment on this month’s installment of the HBO’s RealSports program that began running this week features both the stadiums from Miami and Buffalo prominently. Entitled “Drinking Games,” it zeroes in on the NFL’s attempts to curb the lewd and drunken behavior that is the product of hours of pregame tailgating at every one of the league’s 32 stadiums. Much of the footage, including that shot in Buffalo, is years old. But some newer footage features activities in and around Land Shark Stadium, which of course is named after an Anheuser-Busch beer. http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...-looks-at-fan-behavior-at-land-shark-stadium/
I wonder if they have video of me playing beer pong and/or just pounding beers in the parking lot at 10 am. Go Dolphins!!!!!!!!
Its real bad...dont watch unless your ready to be embarrassed, they find the worst and put it in front of the world to see. Jet fans will love it.
I'm sure the league will be good enough to show the Jets fans that sexually harrassed and threw beer on that woman the year before last. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/20/sports/20iht-FANS.1.8402224.html
It sure is a story, and one worth changing....I applaud what the NFL is trying to do... They dont mind if you stand, and our loud, but be there for the game ya know, make an impact to help your team, being agressively drunk and beligerant does not help the team..
I haven't drank in 14 1/2 years I really have no use for drunks, I used to drink my share and act like a idiot. Don't miss it one bit I have nothing against someone have a beer or drink, but to get stupid drunk and act like a azz, well, that's another thing.
Back in the mid 1980s, after a few "classy" Jets fans set some cars on fire in the parking lot after a game, they stopped selling beer by the end of the third quarter at Giants Stadium -- this was in effect for Giants games, as well (I know this, because I was a Giants fan in my former life when I lived in NJ, went to Giants games and worked for the New Jersey Devils). I don't know if this is still the rule or not?? No secret that we are beer drinkers in this house, probably a bit too much during football games, but we sure wouldn't ruin a day out for any fans that don't "indulge in the golden nectar" if we were out at a game...
they should do a segment on every stadium not just us. why is it when we do get press it seems to be mostly bad? ....oh god...
Beer and Football go together. I drink a lot of it every FB weekend. I get a little louder, yell at a few calls I may not have, but still respect all, even obnoxious Jet fans. LOL More than 95% do the same at all stadiums, and in all sports. However, that is not news worth putting out there. Perhaps we should watch tennis, or a good rousing chess match, over tea.
I think out of retribution, we should all attend a chess championship wearing our football jerseys, tailgate and get all liquored up. Then go in, and half of us root for one player, and half of us root for the other player, and yell DEFENSE when the other player is considering his move, cheer when our player makes a capture, etc.
