Jim Kelly needs prayers from those who believe and at least good wishes from those who don't. Anyone battling cancer is in an uphill struggle and needs the support of everyone - even from fans of teams who he battled against!
As a University of Miami fan since 1960, Kelly was one of my favorite players at the U. Because he played for the Bills, I never rooted for his team while he was in the NFL but I am certainly rooting for him now. He is a good man and I wish him only the best in the biggest battle of his life.
He’s a friend of Marino’s and boy did these two battle a lot back in the day! Jim’s a tough SOB and he’s beaten Cancer I think twice now Jim you can do it again!! Prayers to him and all his family they have had a tough time since football ended for Jim!!!
Former NFL quarterback Jim Kelly was recovering Wednesday night in a New York City hospital after undergoing nearly 12 hours of surgery for oral cancer. “We successfully removed Mr. Kelly's cancer from his upper jaw and lymph nodes from his neck,” Dr. Mark Urken, the operating surgeon, said in a statement to the Buffalo News. “We then reconstructed his upper jaw. Mr. Kelly is resting comfortably post-operatively.” Get well Jim
Kelly is one of the true all time great QB's. He seems to get overlooked a lot by most, and it's true that he played on some stacked teams, but he was great. I really hope he can kick cancer's butt once more and go on to live a lot longer.
The odds of a QB ever making it to a Super Bowl are long indeed. To make it twice in a row is even greater. Three or four times in a row is nearly impossible but Jim Kelly beat those odds by doing just that, 4 in a row. If you can do that, then you can do this. Jim, pull out the K-Gun and whip cancer’s *** one more time!!!
This surgery might change the way he speaks completely, but he wants to continue living. He seems to be the heartbeat of his family, so i hope he can continue on for them.
Nothing but respect for the man. As much as we all hated the Buffalo Bills, Jim Kelly always played with a calm, gracious demeanor on the field and was a class act. Andre Reed, Kelly, and Thomas were just dominant for so long...
