Say Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum surprisingly are released by Even Dumber Owner Ross
Who do ya think we "should " get.... not that Ross Einstein will have the smarts to do it but what do ya think................
If your happy with Coach FG and GM Jeff "Dallas" Ireland, thats cool but no need to respond....
Just wondering who people would like if, god forbid, our staff was 86ed

if the Dolphins finish in the top 5 in defense...look for a promotion from within with Ireland keeping his job.

Ireland I guess I don't hate, but why promote Nolan? He was terrible in SF and Mike singletary, himself a terrible coach, actually did better than him.
If Ireland is retained he should lead a comprehensive search. If they are both canned then Cowher is Option A -
If you're asking me to choose, give me Kirk Ferentz.

I like he has experience at being an actual NFL HC and seems like we have a similar situation as Pitt's with the good defense and favoring a running attack. not that we have the running attack. But a core of Olinemen he'd might be able to build off of..... -
Who did Andy Reid win a superbowl with? -
And are you honestly saying you don't think Reid is a good coach/personnell guy just because he hasn't won a SB? Sign me up for the Eagles last decade any day. -
-
Ireland is a great GM. I don't like fist pump as much, but I feel like he still has a decent amount of potential. If fist pump sucks this year, I want Cowher.
Keep Ireland though.SCall13 likes this. -
Technically Belichick and Reid were not relevant to my question -

If we're talking about the fact that a Super Bowl winning coach has never won a Super Bowl with a second team, I could see why you'd want to be careful there. Jimmy Johnson for instance didn't have the same appetite for stress with Miami that he did in Dallas. However, keep in mind that we're not exactly talking about a very big sample pool. It seems like one of those things that could be absolutely inconceivable until it happens, and then everyone is like, "Remind again me why we didn't think this could happen?"
I mean, Dick Vermeil went to the playoffs four years in a row, including a Super Bowl appearance, then won one later with the Rams. Did he win that Super Bowl with the Rams because he lost the one with the Eagles? Bill Parcells won a Super Bowl, then appeared in another Super Bowl with a second team, then appeared in an AFC Championship with a third team. Mike Holmgren won a Super Bowl, went to another Super Bowl. Tony Dungy took the Bucs to an NFC Championship Game, then later won the Super Bowl with the Colts. Jon Gruden took his Raiders to an AFC Championship Game, then later won the Super Bowl with the Bucs. Tom Coughlin went to an AFC Championship Game with the Jaguars, later won the Super Bowl with the Giants.
We're talking about such a small sample size it might be folly to conclude anything from it. I know in some cases it definitely appears a guy just doesn't have it in him anymore. But in other cases it's like...I don't think Bill Parcells LOST the Super Bowl to the Packers because he'd already won two with the Giants. And the other thing is, you know, there were were a good three seasons of frustration between Parcells' 1986 Super Bowl and his 1990 Super Bowl. If this theory about coaches getting fat and happy and having less appetite for stress and hard work after winning a Super Bowl held a lot of water, you wouldn't necessarily see all these multiple Super Bowl winning coaches that won them with the same team. Belichick hasn't won a Super Bowl since 2004. Does anyone think New England should move on because "when has that ever worked"? -

Your one of the few posters in here for me that actually not only brings reason but an abundance of insightful information that at minimum brings thought. Getting to the point of totally losing faith in this organization and its ineptitude 1. to get in to this QB predicament without backup something (moore ya right)....2 not see the opportunity to really add on offense.
Ah still waiting to see them do something of quality 1st stringer on the offensive side. To me it's getting to the point that like the QB situation they have little options....
Are they actually satisfied ?
Love to have your input as to the insight planning efficiency and direction of our GM and headcoach and just what the hell are they thinking....because JMO we've blown and are blowing a huge opportunity to build our Offense... -
-
So it has never worked. -
Id like to see a few games this season before lynching our HC and Gm.

Who cares. One season at a time.

Is it to much to ask that we even play ONE PRESEASON GAME....JUST ONE....before we start trying to figure out who is gonna be our next HC?
I mean....for all that this team has done to ruin a franchise.......what are you all gonna say if.....yikes....we actually do WELL THIS YEAR. Are you gonna say...well...darn...I was wrong in just about everything I said about the Miami Dolphins this season..... -
Didn''t Mike Holmgren win a SB as an assistant with the 49ers?
If something did happen; I'd wagar Chilly would be tops on the list. -
-
YES
I will come back and apologize and say how wrong I was and damn be sooooo happy to do it.
One reason we could be ahead of your curve is that you don't seem to remember or realize that this has just not started this season... this organization has been in control going on 4 years. Some of us feel that certain consistent patterns of ineptitude have happened and are continuing to repeat themselves again and even again and have caused concern years ago. These unwise decisions have been discussed and even agreed with at times by present day supporters and discussed to nauseaum, so I'm not going through them again.
Going into the forth year and after a pathetic last season especially offensively to not see the need of upgrading positions of people who actually put the ball in the end zone is befalling ........
Missing out on most vital position of QB and a backup plan of Matt Moore......
Couple years ago it was DB's and finding the bargin basement that just continued the problem. Also the Oline, a Sparano specialty, he was an OL coach before, and he's been playing for years OL musical chairs and after being supposedly the focal point of rebuilding were still looking to fix............
Hey you need another year fine and if we are right ..What are you gonna say ? -
I now believe Abbi is onto something. -
Here's where we need to be:
Any questions? :tongue2:
The only worrying I'm doing until then is.........
do I drink this one
or do I splurge for

Same thing I say every season.
Next year we are gonna win the Super Bowl!!!! -
I just want a coach who knows how to manage a clock, has the desire to do more than settle for field goals, and just doesn't look totally and utterly lost out there.
-
Belichick, on the other hand, has not been a very good drafter without Scott Pioli around. Nick Caserio is sort of learning on the job, and one day he'll have most if not all of the authority Pioli used to have.
Citing Andy Reid and Bill Belichick as proof that coaches can handle personnel decisions is misinformed. Generally, coaches have a terrible track record as personnel executives. Case in point: the Bengals. The Bengals don't have a scouting department or a traditional GM. They have the coaches act as scouts during the offseason, because Mike Brown is cheap.Big E likes this. -
