I hate you because I'm jealous.

Within half an hour of being in Hawaii (after you leave the airport), you'll become a happier person overall. Being there is a like a massage for your psyche.

I went to Oahu (main island) honeymoon.

It was the greatest week of my life. It is our mission to move there some day. Yes I know the cost of living is higher. Its worth it though. Its paradise but still America.

Might have to add that to the list of places to go before we have kids

You can have unspoiled beauty unlike anywhere else, with the bluest waters and the mountains and waterfalls and jungles, but also you're never too far away from a 7-11.

Marathon?? Lol maybe before I was on my way towards second domestication. :) now I'm nearly back to being a lard ***.. My fiancé won an achievers trip from her company.. Lord knows we need a vacation, especially me as this last quarter was brutal for me at work.. So to FinDs point this is all about hiking, diving, trying to surf and relaxing.. I'm actually typing this on my iPhone on the way to our first of three stops. Love Gogo Internet access. 16 hours of travel.

Do as much traveling as possible. I'm 36 and never had kids.. With my fiancé we've probably done 20 trips in 2 years.. Top recommendation is Sedona, Arizona, or anywhere in AZ..

We plan on having kids in several years and I'll miss the freedom to travel.

Usually I'm an angry argumentative bastard who hates everything and everyone and has to be forcibly removed from my computer.....

An hour after we land and I'm talking about how happy I am and how every tree there has flowers, or how the people are chill, or the grass is soft like golf course grass...and I'm smiling.

To those advocating more travel pre kids we are totally doing that. Unfortunately we don't live near an international airport, which adds 2 extra flights per trip, which somehow always get messed up. Atlanta and Denver usually screw up trips for us.

I have been to the Big Island "Hawaii" for connection flight only - but beautiful to fly over....and been very blessed to be on Oahu (Pearl Harbor/Wiakiki/North Shore/etc) multiple times for business trips over the past few years (Feb and Oct), etc. Fun time is Halloween in Wiakiki shops/bars/etc....

I would love to visit Kauai and Maui some day, but if I only visit Oahu again, I will be happy. Love that island.
