Oh come now. If Miami hadn't been beat by the Jets, fans would have been dancing in the streets for making the playoffs. They don't give a trophy for that either.

Every team that doesn't win the Super Bowl has failed, but I believe there are different degrees of failure. Based on the talent level of the Jets, they had a "good season." Miami, not so much.
