I agree. Sparano specifically said he got involved b/c he wanted changes and we all saw some obvious changes, so I don't get why some want to pretend that nothing changed except for Henne becoming more aggressive.
Only question is how do they finally get the interior offensive line going again. Ronnie finally seems have to developed his power and some burst again. Perhaps Eric Ghiacuc starts at LG sooner or later? One way or the other they need to get that settled. Incognito-Berger is where a number of Miami's runs repeatedly go for one or two yards of misery.
sparano has been involved from the beginning. both henning and sparano have spelled out how they work together. sparano gives henning the big picture gameplan he wants (i want to be aggressive this week, i want to be conservative this week, i want to run more, etc) and henning formulates the plan that fits Sparano's wishes. During the course of the game Sparano has the ability anytime he wants to make suggestions (the running game is working lets keep running, Marshall is getting open lets dial up a play to him, etc) This is pretty standard stuff, Its the relation most offensive coordinators have with their coaches
IMO this is Henne speak for; coaches put a ball and chain around my ankle for the last year and a half. Then they benched me because I was not being productive enough in the red zone on 3rd down after they call two runs for 2 yards. So what I have decided to do is throw the ball down the field more so I dont have to get in to the red zone and have to make those 3rd down throws. Simple if you ask me...
No. Sparano specifically said that he got more involved b/c he wanted the there to be more commitment to the running game. As for the "message", I'm guessing they believe that it was balanced, but anybody who listened to the weekly coordinator blogs saw that it was obvious that they were emphasizing game management over play making. There's no way their message was anything close to "balanced" even if they want to say that's the way they meant it.
