thatd be kinda wacky if merlings agent couldn't get it done, but who knows. is he ready to lock and load anyway, or is there still some recovery to be done?
Maybe Merling's agent thinks he's got more leverage with JT gone now and can get more out of them? Who knows what these agents are thinking these days.
Good question. If he's ready then he needs to be there. Especially with the increase in competition now that JTs gone.
That's a relief. I was worried for a bit that Henne would just let his agent run amok, hold him out for no good reason, etc.
We've seen it over and over again that a rookie who loses time in TC just can't develop in time for the regular season to have an impact...Merling is an important cog now in the development of the DL and Henne, as Ck said, has to be there to have any chance of competing with Beck and McClown...going to be an interesting camp...
Keep our fingers crossed we get them signed!!we have had to many hold outs the last few years........
I can see Merling holding out until the people around him get signed, just because he will most likely want to be compensated as a first round pick.
Thats def good news. Merling is far more important to have signed and ready to go in this camp then Henne is IMO. With any luck (and skill), our depth chart will look like: Beck McCown Henne Merling on the other hand, has a chance to walk into camp, work hard and learn quickly, and walk out a starter.
Pressure on Merling to sign. Will not make Wayne or Bill happy and he'll have to play exceptional to get back their trust.
