The Robot will be launching the ball downfield with lightning accuracy into the hands[not bouncing off of the hands] of someone not named Ted Ginn Jr. We all knew this, but to hear it from him is great[and to hear Marshall working with the other WRs].
This season can't get here soon enough. Let's not jinx it though.

As a fan you have to be pleased with how hard Marshall is trying to really be apart of the team. Its a good sign so far.

The most lethal velocity in the game....and now he's working out.

Bess: BM how do you get off the LOS so slowly and create that much seperation?
BM: Its all in the hands and angles, and utilizing the strength of your upper body. Can I get that number?
DB: no...
all joking aside, I hope Henne develops a better touch on the ball downfield..phineas64 and dolfan7171 like this. -

Additionally, who is going to stretch the field ?? Marshall, Cammy, Hartline, the aforementioned Bess ?? I doubt it. Marshall is a great WR but he's not a burner. Cammy is a step slower than Hartline, but neither are 4.4 or 4.5 guys like Ted was.
At any rate, it's good to hear Henne upbeat and positive. He'll have the benefit of a full offseason and TC as 'the man', so all he has to do now is prove it....I tend to think he can... -

Lots of feel good info in that article. BM elevates our game all around. He gives the DBs a tough receiver to get reps with. It gives the other receivers someone to watch in person, practice with, and feed off. And most importantly it gives Henne the target he needs to develop into a fully equipped QB.

I LOVE that Marshall is teaching the younger receivers about techniques to release and other WR skills.

Well hartline has shown he's capable of stretching the feild and bess may not be your home run hitter per say but he can get across the middle of the feild and to the sidelines about 15-20 yards down field. He has shown that ability many times. -
Go watch a Brandon Marshall highlight reel. He can get down the field, and he's still reasonably fast for his size. It's the same thing Vincent Jackson does. He's negligibly faster than Marshall, but he gets off the jam, runs good routes, and goes up and gets the balls. He's not burning people either, he's just going up and winning contests for them.

I might mark out if we line up in a 5 wide set.

To be fair Ginn rarely ever dropped a deep ball, it was the simple comeback routes he had problems with.

I actually wish we kept Ginn as a KR/PR guy, and occasionally in at Wr to run down the field like he did against the Jets and that's it.
But Marshall is tough and he definitely gets more YAC then Ginn when Ginn would actually catch it. If Marshall does repeat his 100+ catch, 1000+ yard performances and 7-10 TDs from previous three seasons, then we will all forget about Ginn's speed anyway. Marshall will occasionally demand double coverage, and free up Bess, Camarillo and Hartline. And if they don't double cover him, he will constantly be a threat for us to score. Plus, it helps the running game since they wont stack the box on them anymore. -

Play Action, Pump fake to Marshall, Touchdown. Freezing the SS, scaring the DB's, Scoring points. This year will be nice.

I love Henne's attitude and enthusiasm. He has his #1 and is smiling ear to ear.
As far as us fans don't expect us to be going deep every series. You still have to pick your spots. If you go out slinging it every time and misfire we are going to end up in 3rd and long too often. That puts the defense back on the field and will cost you football games. I'm not saying be overly conservative by any means but we have to be a balanced offense and some will be let down by that from time to time. What I'm saying is we have to run the football. As far as we know right now that is the strength of the offense until we find out otherwise. We have been built to do that and we do it very well. Let's not forget.
Opening things up and forcing the extra man out of the box is a great plan and that is why brandon is here but we have to see it to believe it.dolfan7171 likes this. -

This thread is giving me the chills!! Football season can't come soon enough and it's not even June yet
2010 is going to be an INCREDIBLE season to be a Dolphins fan.. The face of the franchise now has the best WR to don a Dolphins uniform since arguably the Clayton days, and our new, revamped D is young, aggressive and full of leaders... Our OL is solid... Ronnie is coming back full steam ahead..... But again, I'm most excited about Henne, his attitude and his work ethic....
I'm not predicting the Super Bowl, but this team will be special! -

Sure... Marshall will do all of that, if he doesn't fall and break his fragile old-lady hip again.

I read about half the posts on the first page, and if what I'm about to say has already been posted, my apologies.
It's not that we're going to have any "speed demons" that are going to be "burners" that's going to make our offense so deadly, it's the fact that pound for pound, Brandon Marshall is probably the best receiver in the league. He's a playmaker. Add him in to the equation with the R&R Express, Marshall's going to pull defenders to open up running lanes for Ronnie and Ricky...and if Ronnie and Ricky are indeed clicking, it's going to free up DB's to stop the Wildcat and that's how Marshall will be so deadly downfield.
In fact, I'm willing to make this prediction...
Because of Brandon Marshall, his mere presence on the field is going to cause one of our other receivers to become the "Wes Welker" of our team...
Sure, Randy Moss is the stud receiver in New England, but because he commands so much respect on the field, Welker's been the go to guy for Brady.
Same will come to pass in Miami. The only question is, who will it be? Bess? Hartline? Camarillo?
If the O-line holds, we're going to have a deadly offense this year.
Oh well, looks like LATE nights in Afghanistan staying up til all hours of the morning watching the Dolphins again!!! -
I don't believe ive ever see Ricky or Ronnie run against a fair front. not on this team..
2 components you need to play against a fair front, QB with a lethal arm, wide receiver that demands double teams, we've never had both during those guy's carreers, until now....scary.
