Rookie quarterback Chad Henne handled snaps with the first-team offense during the morning session of two-a-days.

Henne missed on his two pass attempts, including an interception. He overthrew WR Ted Ginn Jr. on a deep sideline pattern and led TE David Martin too much on a sideline out.

CB Will Allen came up with the ball on the miss to Martin.

Josh McCown and John Beck handled snaps with the second- and third-team units, but coaches continually shuffled skills players in and out.
McCown was sacked on his first pass. Beck threw two incompletions.


There also was a change on the first-team offensive line. Justin Smiley replaced rookie Shawn Murphy at left guard, with third-year pro Trey Darilek stepping in for Smiley on the right side.

Thanks for the info. Nice to hear Henne get a shot to work with the first team, not so nice to hear that it didnt work out to well for him.

Man everytime I read a report I see another Will Allen pick. Makes me more and more nervous about his situation.

meh, it will bro, he's brand spanking new, given a chance to settle down I think he'll do ok..

Oh i dont doubt that one bit. I watched him for 4 years at Michigan. Im confident he's capable of starting and winning in this league . Just would have liked to have seen him have a good performance with the first team thats all :up:

If something happens to Will Allen (injury or suspension) we are in big trouble. With him I think our secondary can do ok. If Yeremiah can play at a high level and Jason Allen continues to improve I think we could be quite good. If Allen gets suspended then it's time to trade for somebody *cough* Lito Sheppard *cough*
