I know that this man is in question on his ability and talent to lead this team to the Post Season...

Here are some of the numbers from his last 3 Pre-Seasons... We can all see things differently, but I wanted you all to see them...

    2008-

    40 comp, 60 atts (63% completion), 351 yards (5.6 YPA), 1 TD, 2 INT, 70.3 QBR...

    2009

    30 comp, 51 atts (58% completion), 313 yards (6.1 YPA), 2 TD, 2 INT, 73.4 QBR...

    2010

    32 comp, 58 atts (55% completion), 472 yards (8.1 YPA), 2 TD, 1 INT, 86 QBR...

Now, we know that his WR dropped at least 4 passes, if you add his YPA to them you would see a 62% completion and his QBR would be as high as 94...

This would be good numbers and a good problem to have, if you look at it pessimistically...

Now, you have the numbers, and everyone can gauge at their own risk...

Preseason numbers aren't worth a damn. It's the preseason rings that count.

Guess that means the Colts will suck again this year. :shifty:

To the OP, thank you for posting this. Hopefully this helps lessen the pieces of the sky that have been falling. :)

I've yet to learn to not "know when to say when". Also, have not mastered the art of chugging well-seasoned broiled lard.

    Manning-

    31 comp, 51 atts ( 60.8% completion), 396 yards (7.8 YPA) 3 TD, 2 INT 88.4 QBR

    Henne -

    32 comp, 58 atts (55% completion), 472 yards (8.1 YPA), 2 TD, 1 INT, 86 QBR...

You think we could trade Henne for Manning straight up? :shifty:

10 drops if you count the 3rd game.

There were an awful lot more than 4 drops this preseason. Factor all of those in, I'd say at least 10. His completion % is way up, as are yards, and of course QBR.

I seriously think most people that are down on Henne this season so far simply look at stats alone and think, OMG... he's so awful!!! Failing to see the big picture.

Cant wait till we shut up all our doubting fans next week when we actually run our offense and defense as designed, not in preseason form.

    :omg:

    ...

but seriously, this is why I started this thread... to show that there were improvements from his rookie year on his performance...

and you are right, QB at least it seems does not show that the sky is falling, IMO...

Oh, I know what your point was with the thread. I'm with you. The improvement is there. He's making smart decisions, getting the ball there. He can't catch it too

People just need to relax. That's the only point I'm making

Here's the numbers that I pay attention to when looking at Chad Henne.

In his final 8 games of the 2009 season:

236 yards per game, 62% completion percentage, 8 TDs, 11 INTS

In his final 5 games of the 2009 season:

273 yards per game, 64% completion percentage, 5 TDs, 7 INTS

Obviously, he has to cut out the turnovers, but he showed tremendous progress in his first season as a starter. I could care less what his numbers look like this preseason. He has proven in the regular season that he is an ascending quarterback in this league.
