Dolphins In Depth

I would hope he is just as good at matt Ryan because Flacco sucks. He makes horrible decisions. i hope Henne becomes the next great Miami Dolphins QB.

Flacco sucks? Based on what? His first 5 games in the NFL? Please, he's a rookie and will have his growing pains. Remember, players like Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger, Dan Marino...those guys are the exception. Rarely does a QB come in on his rookie year and light things up.
As for Chad Henne, I love the man and I'm not afraid to say it. I can't wait for him to get his chance because I think he's going to be a solid QB in this league. And I also think he's just as good as Matt Ryan.steveincolorado, adamprez2003, Jt0323 and 2 others like this. -

Oh, and most of Flacco's ints are when he is pressured and running towards the outside of the pocket... not like he has all day to make bad decisions in a comfy pocket. -
Flacco was thrown into this while not ready, much like Beck was for us. -
Actually Flacco has it worse than Beck did... Beck had a few games watching Trent Green before he got thrown in the fire.
I expect Henne will be much more polished than either Ryan or Flacco in his first start, and more likely end up being better over-all than either. Pennington may not have a deep ball, but there really isn't a much better tutor for a rookie QB out there. -

Matt Ryan absolutely has been exceeding my expectations. Having Michael Turner doesn't hurt either btw.

Henne has the arm. -

I believe Henning on this one. Not just because im a michigan fan too. I've seen Henne play the last 4 years or so, his arm is strong, he makes good decisions, throws accurately, and he always had command of that michigan offense and was their leader. Now he's here, he's performed well in preseason, and in action against Arizona. now bring in pennington, the NFL's most accurate passer, and a great game manager, and a great leader. Pennington here, is perfect to Henne to learn behind. There's no doubt in my mind that ones Henne gets the chance, he's going to prove to us all that the QB search in Miami is over.
-
I really think henning should have just kept his mouth shut on this one. No need to even state something like this. Fact of the matter is, Ryan's playing in real games, Henne has not except some minutes against AZ.
What did Wannstedt say? What can Trent Green do that Jay Fielder cannot? In no way am I even advocating Henne is fiedler or anything, just sometimes it's better not to say anything. -
Flacco is going to be a good QB. I might be biased but so what?
-
Ryan is no doubt a franchise QB in my opinion. Henne has just shown brilliance in preseason and a bit in regular season but his body of work is too small to judge. If Henne ca show franchise QB ability, we just picked up a franchise LT and QB in one draft people. That's mind blowing. I hope Henning is right.
I'm not high on Flacco though. I think he'll be pretty average as a QB. Just my thoughts after watching him a little bit. -

We can only hope Henne is our guy but I really like what I've seen out of him.
He does have one hell of a teacher in Penningtion, I'm sure he'll be ready when the time comes. -

It's way too early to made a determination on this.
Ryan is certainly surpassing my expectations of him thus far, but he could regress. And we simply haven't seen enough of Henne to make a determination of any kind (though I did like what he did in cleanup duty against the Cardinals)PMZQ likes this. -

I think knowing what decisions to make does improve, though. QBs are always going to have questionable decisions from time to time. It's making the right decisions more oftenalen1 likes this. -
well the one thing I saw in Flacco was the best raw tools of any of last years QB prospects. The one thing he lacked however was any understanding of pro style defenses coming from division 2. Its not just the schemes but the speed. I actually thought he would look worse when he started because of that. And I never dreamed they would throw him in the first game lol. I thought he would be a three year project kind of like Kevin Kolb in Philly. He's ahead of schedule from my expectations but he has a long long way to go still. This is a guy that if he arrives it probably wont be till 2010

Dang you Dang for all of this qoute.
Dang you For bringing up that infamous quote and Dang you for linking Henne to Fiedler even if it's in a staement where you're proclaiming that you're not comparing them. TOO LATE!
Bad Ju Ju! -
(the answer is Wannstedt)
He ran like a bat out of hell when The 'Stache was coming in.
Like has been said he has the talent, raw may it be, because he was recruited & signed by a Div 1a school. -
When's the last time someone with great physical tools but bad fundamentals and tangibles turned it around? A knock on Flacco is his fundementals etc.
Remember when we were on the older board, and a lot of people wanted Adrian McPherson because of his physical tools? -
Unless something happens to Henne's arm, he's no Fiedler. If Henne is fiedler with a strong arm, that might not be so bad, Fiedler was a damn gamer until that last year. -
Second of all please do not say that Chad Henne is going to be the next great miami dolphins qb you will jinx him.
