Henning reflects..''no comment on Marshall''

Not surprising he gave the "no comment" answer on Brandon Marshall. Marshall himself has already given the "no comment" answer on Dan Henning several times. It's obvious they didn't get along.

Who on offense would honestly want vouch for a guy calling wildcat and play actions with two WR routes and 17 TEs to block on third and long anyway?

The ''boy'', needs to play hard, keep his head down, and his mouth shut.I dont care what the circumstances are..If he can't do that, after this offseason, after what he's been through, and the contract he signed, then he can piss off..I'll draft Blackmon, Floyd, or Broyles and be done with it.

I wash my hands of Henning, I could give an absolute s*it what that guy thinks or says.....One of the worst coaches Miami has ever had...

Two passages stick out.

Henning wants to make one thing clear about his tenure – he was not fired in January. He said the original plan was for him to serve as offensive coordinator for only two seasons. Parcells, too, didn’t have plans of a long stay in Miami, leaving the Dolphins after two-plus years.

But Sparano asked Henning to stay on for the 2010 season, to help Sparano evaluate the rest of the coaching staff.

This is very interesting to me. In addition to Henning's retirement and succession by Daboll, we had three new hires and one position change on the offensive side of the ball. Naturally, everyone is evaluated each year. But this indicates that Sparano wasn't necessarily confident in his offensive lieutenants as of January 2010.

“I think they’re still short some things. Tony’s going to have to make some decisions about how strong he feels about certain aspects of his philosophy and if he sticks with them. But I think they’ll make continued progress toward what Mr. Ross says, of being in contention on a regular basis.”

This is a very loaded quote.

We've discussed stubbornness ad nauseam. But this illustrates a certain level of philosophical disagreement between Henning and Sparano.

With Parcells and Henning gone, Tony is truly his own man now. Daboll is his pick as offensive coordinator. And much has been made about opening things up and being explosive. So we will see. Ireland seems to be on the same page, arming them with three intriguing skill players and a center in the draft.

Henning wanted Drones, Marshall wanted the spotlight, we all should have seen this one coming.

Sparano made a misjudgment concerning Henning, this is one of the examples of Irish/Sparano being very poor at predicting what could go wrong but typically being excellent at fixing what went wrong.

To me, the other 3 Coaches who should have been on the hot seat are Secondary Coach Todd Bowles and OL Coach Dave Gugliemo and ST Coordinator Rizzi, to me all 3 seriously underperformed in 2010, so much so they probably should have been fired, can understand why they were not fired, Contuity and Sparano correctly did not want to toss guys overboard after Ross's Big Adventure but:

-29th ranked ST unit, we gave up as many TD's with Rizzi as ST Coach as we did with Bonamego
-20-30 (!) dropped interceptions easily the worst in the NFL
-Berger was not good, Jerry was not good, McQuistan was not good, Murtha was passable, we had no one step up in 2010 when we needed them to.

In the process of asking a question, he mentioned that off the record, Dolphins players were telling the media en masse that a significant portion of the locker room did not like or respect Chad Henne and had no faith in him. "Significant portion" seems to be a euphemism for "the other 10 guys on offense", because the frustration carried over onto the field, and people were yelling at Henne left and right. I particularly remember Fasano bitching Henne out after a busted play leading to a punt.

So why is Marshall given crap for saying or doing things that no one can quite identify when and where they occurred, but Fasano and the other offensive players given passes for sharing Marshall's sentiments?

because when you wanna be known as a star, and you make the money according to such, then you conduct yourself on a different level of those who aren't as good or make as much money..Part of being paid the best must incur responsibilities in the intangible dept..Leadership should be part of any 50 million dollar contract. If you don't have that in your repertoire, than you shouldn't be gettin paid 50 million.

I watched the guy lolligag thru a professional football game with 0 focus and a bad attitude that directly resulted into drops on the football field which effects outcomes of games.

Personally, I feel if you put up the numbers I previously laid out, you can do whatever the hell you want. Why do you repeatedly refer to Marsall as "boy"? Are you completely ignorant as to the connotations of a white guy calling a black guy "boy"?

Marshall was pissed and rightfully so, he was brought here to headline this offensive passing attack and he turned into a decoy. In Denver people knew where the ball was going but no one could stop him, the guy has a huge frame, vert and amazing hands. It seems like they used him most of the time to open up the middle for Bess and Butterfingers aka Fasano. Lets not even speak of the red zone, the guy is the tallest biggest receiver we have and it was seldom that we threw it up there for him to grab and he has done his entire career. Then there is the financial side of things, I wouldn't be surprised if he has incentives tied to his performance such as receptions, yards and touchdowns. Well if hes not getting opportunities to earn his money hes going to get pissed as would i.

The man plays with emotions and he's not soft spoken. He calls it like he see's it and that is all there is to it.

That doesn't really make sense to me mate. How is he a jackass for getting stabbed by his wife? Dropping the ball i ssignificant, yes, but it happens quite a bit with the top NFL WRs. Considering how much he was targeted, its not as big of a deal to me. And no, I'm not making excuses for him.

That's an interesting point. If Brandon Marshall were spotted going after Henne the way Fasano did on that play...it would have made headlines and it would have been example numero uno held up by various people as proof that Brandon Marshall is a cancer and needs to go.

Especially since, as I recall, what Fasano was yelling at Henne for on that play did not really appear to be Henne's fault.

But it's interesting that Jorge Sedano said that Dolphins players were privately off the record telling media members en masse that they had no confidence in Chad Henne. That's been something hotly debated in the past, the extent to which many players in the locker room sort of gave up on Chad Henne.

Probably because Marshall has a history of being a malcontent. And there was clearly plenty more going on "behind the scenes" that we didn't see or hear. Fasano, on the other hand is not typically a guy who shows emotion and frustration. He got frustrated for one play in one game. Other than that particular play, I didn't see Fasano get heated with anyone. Marshall, as we all knew before he was signed, was coming with baggage. And a big part of his baggage was being a little bitch the majority of the time. We're talking about a second year QB in a pathetic offensive system, playing with a garbage offensive line and sub-par RB play. Marshall doesn't see the big picture because he's all about himself. So he rattles off about anyone and everyone else because it can't be his fault. Look at the bone-headed crap he did in some of the games. He had several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties that cost us good field position and put our offense in a hole. He also let up in games pretty consistently because he doesn't wear big boy pants and plays like a punk when he feels like it. Fasano never acted like that. Nor did any other players. As anemic as our offense was as a WHOLE, everyone else went out and at least played hard and didn't act like a freakin' punk just for the sake of doing so.

A decoy with 80 + catches? Really? There are a lot of receivers in the league that would LOVE to be that kind of decoy.

I don't know what games you were watching. I only saw this in week 17, when the entire team gave up on Henne, Sparano, Henning, and basically the entire concept of Dolphins football.
