Dangerous isn't what comes to mind with Garrard or Moore not having a true #1 in the mix.

 

Moore and Garrard are probably better then 50% of the QBs in the NFL.

Wow, what an achievement. Ross stated after the season that his number one priority was to upgrade the QB position. So he goes out and signs another QB who even you admit is only better than 50% of the QB's in the NFL. That would appear to mean that the other 50% must be better than Garrard and Moore. That seems to define mediocrity at its best, as far as I am concerned.

Other than Mike Wallace, who is out there as a number 1 fa wise? Wallace comes with giving up a first round pick, so that won't happen.

Blackmon should be off the board by the time we pick at 8 and no other receiver is worth drafting there.

Sure Hill wowed at the combine, bur he didn't wow at Tech much. Granted he plays in a horrible option offense, but he was still meh. Maybe we get him in the 2nd.

 

I've seen that place. They actually have an elite QB tree growing inside their atrium. They are trying to genetically engineer a GM tree, but people on this board probably wouldn't be interested since apparently everyone in the world not named Jeff Ireland would be an improvement.

 

No one FA wise, that was part of my point. Most experts have commented on the depth at WR this draft. So, we'll see.

 

There are tons of compliment pieces in this years WR class. It is very deep in there. The top level talent in thin and I am not sure we will be in a position to draft any of them. Hope we upgrade somehow because what we have now won't get it done.

 

The Jets were totally falling apart as a team at the end of the season. They had very little chance to make the playoffs if they beat the Dolphins and I just don't think they were even prepared to play that game. The reality is that the Dolphins have played the Jets tough for years and Sparano had a 4-3 record against the Jets during his tenure as the Dolphins HC.

The problem with the Dolphins is they can't beat a team with a winning record and they lose too many games to teams which appear to have inferior talent. Obviously since they continue to lose to these type teams, the talent on the Dolphins isn't as good as many people on here would want you to believe it is.

 

I believe that signing a QB after the season was our number one priority, was in reference of Payton Manning, I also think that was no other QBs available beside Manning better then Moore. I'm not sure if saying that Moore is between the 12 to 15 better QBs is such a bad thing, considering that personally I don't see no one else better then him in FA or Draft JMHO

 

Yet they are 20-28 over the last three seasons. I would settle for less respect from those around the league and more wins by the players who seem to have all this respect. I am sure that the majority of HC's look at their schedule and if they see the Dolphins on it, their first inclination is to think to themselves that," this is a game we should win".

Until they actually start winning games against quality opponents, all this so called respect from the , "real football analysts", is much ado about nothing. What real football people respect are, "wins". I would think that just about every player is the NFL would be considered tough or he wouldn't be in the league to begin with. As far as staying together during adversity. When you have to deal with Ross as your owner and Ireland as the teams GM, adversity is merely a way of life for the players and coaches on the Dolphins.

 

I'm not upset they didn't get Flynn or Smith. I was upset they didn't get Manning or do what was necessary to trade up and get RG3. It was Ross, not me that stated the top priority in this off season was to upgrade the QB position. I certainly don't see a QB who was cut from the Jaqs before the beginning of last season as an upgrade to this position.

I also don't see any of the QB's left in the draft, after Luck and RG3 are drafted, as long term answers at the QB position for the Dolphins either. The owner and the GM were the individuals who made a point of it to state that upgrading the QB position was their top issue in the off season. I see them having failed in doing what they said they were going to do. Of course I have grown used to this when it comes to Ross and Ireland, so I guess I should not be surprised.

 

Unfortunately he has spent a lot of money on coaches who couldn't seem to coach and players who aren't very good. Yet this is exactly what all the other owners in the NFL with lousy teams do. He just happens to be another rich man who has the money to waste on an inferior product.

As far as him buying up tickets so I can sit on my *** and watch for free. When I gave up my tickets last year after having season tickets for forty years, I anticipated that the majority of the home games would be blacked out. In fact I stated at the time Ross started buying tickets so that the blackout could be lifted, that he was being foolish. If he wants more fans in the stadium, he shouldn't be giving his product away for free. With games blacked out in the South Florida area, either fans will have to go to the game or not see it. I sat in the stadium for years with thousands of empty seats while the vast majority of Dolphin fans were at home sitting on their asses enjoying the game.

If next year, the games are blacked out. I will merely move my early Sunday morning tee off time to the afternoon and I will find out the score of the game when I get home. Obviously I would rather be attending the games in person, but I made a decision after the 2010 season that I would not attend another game until both Sparano and Ireland are no longer working for the Dolphins. I will stand by that decision and if that means I am playing golf while the Dolphins are playing a blacked out home game, so be it.

No single team that was in the playoffs last year is afraid of the Dolphins. The Ravens...the Ravens are afraid of the Dolphins? Respect the Dolphins? The Ravens aren't afraid of the Steelers, they're not afraid of the Dolphins. Steelers aren't afraid of the Dolphins. Patriots definitely aren't afraid. The Jets aren't afraid either.

Who exactly is worried about the Dolphins? Mel Kiper is afraid of the Dolphins, that's about it.

I don't think this perception entails that the other perception doesn't exist. Its very likely that people view the team as full of talent and very capable of winning, but at the same time Jeff Ireland is still a dick.

The Dolphins were 6-10 last season after going 7-9 the two previous seasons. I find it hard to believe any team in the NFL would be afraid of this Dolphin team. In fact I have to think that the majority of the teams in the NFL would love to have the Dolphins on their schedule this coming season.

 

I agree the Dolphins are a dangerous team. They are not good eneough to get over the hump and get to the post season but they are good enough to play spoiler to those teams playing them that are on the cusp to getting into the post season.

Matt Moore will be coached to manage games and take ocassional shots down the field to keep defenses honest. He does have a decent deep throw that defenses have to respect. I think we will look to add a #1 reciever to replace Marshall before all of this is over and I think we will put most of our resources toward improving our defense.

 

my thought is it's probably somewhere in between all this garbage. As in we aren't a complete disaster but definately have work that needs to be done.

 

And he have a fairly easy schedule. So I guess that goes both ways. These bad teams will love to see us and we just hope we are better than them.

Where exactly is all this talent? The offensive line is mediocre at best. The QB's are mediocre to below average and the running backs, except for one decent year from Bush last season are nothing if not average. The Dolphins have no #1 WR since Marshall was traded and while Bess is a very good slot receiver, the rest of the WR's on this team are average to below average. The TE has been average since he came here from the Cowboys and he only seems to show up in a few games each year.

On defense The DL is probably the best unit on the team, yet they are unable to apply any pressure on opposing QB's. The LB corp is adequate ,with Dansby and Wake probably considers above average players in the NFL at the LB position. The rest of the LB's are mediocre at best. Vontae Davis appears to have the most talent in the secondary, but he still is not considered a pro bowl type CB in the NFL at this time. The safety positions and the CB spot opposite Davis are huge question marks, as far as I am concerned.

So when you look at each unit on this team, exactly where is all that talent you are writing about?

 

The WCO isn't an offense that relies on a lot of deep passes. It is more of a precision offense which relies on a QB being able to make quick decisions in the pocket and to consistently hit short to mid range passes.
I don't see this type offense being well suited for Moore. I think he will probably be as effective as Flynn or Smith would have been if they had come to the Dolphins but Moore certainly appeared to be more comfortable throwing the ball down field last year than he did when he was making the throws which required him to read the defense and find the open receiver over the middle or in the flat.

Hopefully the present offensive coaches can work with him in an effort to make him better in this area.

As for the RG3 miss, yeah, I was hopeful too. It's too bad that in today's NFL it would take a mortgaging of the team's future to go from 8th to 2nd in the draft in order to pick a guy (whom I love) that has less than a 50% chance of being good or a bust. If you go by history that is. What if RG3 busts? What type of position will the Redskins be in then?

We were too good to get a top 5 pick last season and too bad for anything else to matter. We are at 8th. Is that Ireland's fault too? Maybe Ireland and Ross should bribe the league and entice them to allow the Dolphins to have the 2a pick and still allow the Redskins to pick 2nd...just 2b?
