I know I just joined yesterday but I saw this place and thought I'd ask for a prayer or two. I'm deeply spiritual and am having carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand on Wednesday. It's microscopic but still carries some element of danger, as far as using my hand, and my job is an Executive Assistant at a law firm in NYC so I need the use of both of mine. lol. Thank you all.

Good thoughts coming your way Ellen.
I do know that Carpo tunnel surgery has come along ways in the last decade.
I had surgery for trigger finger (Similar surgery) about 5 years ago. Certainly glad I did it.
Good luck, let us know how it turns out.dolphindebby and ellenfins like this. -

No, I am not clergy. I only play one on this site. But, we are blessed enough to have a clergy among us: Ohiophinphan. He is an outstanding member and a wonderful resource to have here when we need prayers, comfort, or answers. He is a good friend.xphinfanx, dolphindebby, ellenfins and 1 other person like this. -

You have my prayer Ellen.
Yes, ohiophinfan is a Pastor and one of the kindest and most caring people I know.
I'm sure he'll come in as soon as he sees this.
There are several on here that are prayer warriors and are wonderful anytime you need support, prayers or just some one to listen to you. -
I will keep you in my prayers for a safe and successful surgery. Stay safe.

Hello and welcome to the site. I am sorry, but Sunday is a busy day for me
You will certainly have my prayers for your health, your job, the surgeon's skill, etc. No surgery is insignificant and I wish you all the best.
I am the senior pastor of a large Lutheran parish in a small village near Lake Erie in NW Ohio. I have been a pastor over 25 years. I try and help out around here with prayer requests and some light duty advice/counseling through private messages and threads. Sometimes I can guide discussions in the religion and spirituality forum or here in outreach if questions arise. The folks here are very kind and have been supportive of my work.
Again glad to have you with us. This is a good place to talk Phins and find friends. God speed!ellenfins, dolphindebby and The Rev like this. -

Excellent news Ellen.
Hopefully the relief putweighs the pain involved with surgery, I am sure it will in the long run.

Both Ohiophinphan and The Rev are top-notch folks. Won't find better, more caring better listeners anywhere.
Just one more perk of our community in here :up:Ohiophinphan, ellenfins and dolphindebby like this. -

Glad to hear about your surgery!
I haven't had surgery that extensive, but I'm a musician and I really messed up a pinky finger playing football once, then got a bone spur. I was really scared, because I really need that finger to work!
Anyway, if/when they send you to physical therapy for rehab, my only (unsolicited!) advice: do what your physical therapist tells you to do to recover! For example, if they give you some little, seemingly stupid exercise to do 3-5 times a day, do it 5 times.
I say this because it is my experience, and that of others I was in rehab with, that they don't expect you to do what they ask, so if you actually do it, you'll come out ahead!
Best of luck! I grew up in Ohio--Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus...ellenfins likes this. -
